Hypothetical Trade (1 Viewer)

In terms of value, I would trade any RB in the league for Champ Bailey (I'd even throw in a 2nd round pick - hehe). The only RB I would think twice about trading for Bailey would be Tomlinson. But I would hesitate to trade Deuce for anyone b/c of the leadership he provides. Did you see in the PIttsburgh game.when the defense was on the field they showed a shot of the entire offense gathered around Deuce? How many other RBs do you know provide that kind of leadership?

Its not us that would veto this trade, it would be Shannie. Lets not forget that Denver has always been albe to find diamonds in the rough when it comes to running backs.

WHY ON EARTH would they give up a top tier Defensive Back for a running back coming off of a major knee surgery?

Will never happen. EVER

WE have established that this will never happen. It was just a hypothetical situation, ruling out all other things, including what the team already has.

NO WAY - I wouldn't trade Deuce for anyone....

Interesting proposition, but I wouldn't do it. I know it's business, but Deuce is like family. And he's a pretty good running back.

i would do it, but you'd have to get a guy like Ed Reed or Brian Urlacher. but why trade Deuce when you can just sign Adalius Thomas in the off-season and he will imediatedly help this defense imensely.

Running Backs are a dime a dozen. Shutdown Corners are a rareity. I'd do the trade.

no. I have no desire to upgrade a weakness by giving up one of our strengths...and Deuce's strengths are runing the ball and his leadership. Definitely wouldnt trade that. That said, the best DB is a bigger asset than the best RB (I know this is debatable, but JMHO). This offseason when we upgrade, I dont want to do it at the expense of other positions, either.

It'll never happen. Especially with Deuces contract. Just for fun.

Be Happy. This offseason we get to keep Decue and upgrade at CB with a possibility of several top corners. Gonna be fun.

The only players from the Ravens that I would sign/trade for are Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and McAlister... the rest are "system" players. Count the number of Raven defenders that left and actually made noise somewhere else... the list is longer than you would think.

No freaking way!

Duece does great in our present system. There's no guarantee that Champ will do the same.

The only way I would consider this is if I believed that Reggie had the ability to be like L.T. Right now I don't see this. I not saying he won't, but only that I don't see it right now to make that change.

You mean Hartwell isnt a stud?

Champ would look like Craft if we don't get any pressure on the QB... I would however let Charles Grant go via free agency and go HARD after Dwight Freeney... that would make both McKenzie and Craft look like Champ. Can you imagin Will Smith on one side and Freeney on the other?

I think you need to watch more Bronco games, the Broncos rarelly get pressure on the QB and outside of Dumerville(who only plays on third downs) they have no pass rush at all (lang and Ekuban are mediocre at best). Their DTs also get very little pressure if any compared to 70 percent of the other teams in the NFL. The pass rush has been the biggest aggrivation most Bronco fans have had with Shannahan over the last several years. plus coyers schemes arent very CB friendly either in fact he just sucks at defense. Watching the Broncos for my whole life I can say many very much undervalue a guy like Champ, he literally takes away half the field. He has not let anyone score a td on him this year and every receiver hes lined up against he shuts down. The other thing some don't realize is the turnover factor, every team that has tested him this year have come to regret it, brady and peyton wouldn't even look his way on the field. Champ has a knack for making gamechanging turnovers.

However in my response to the original question, I love Deuce and never would want to see him go but deuce is getting older and it would take a lot of faith in Reggie to hope he can carry the load, but champ adds an immediate and huge impact in pass protection to the defence and helps create a better overall balance to this team. RB is the easiest position to fill but a corner like champ is some one who is just a once in a generation player. Champ has shut down every receiver hes been paired with this year, and all but a one or two in the last few years, just imagine how much lower the score for the other team would be with mckenzie on one side and champ on the other. I think we would be better off with Champ as much as i love Deuce i think i would no question take champ over Deuce. Champ is arguablly the most complete corner to play the game maybe even ever (yes i realize Deion was great but he never tackled, helped in the running game, and Deion played in an era were rules benefitted CBs more then today and weren't as kind to WRs as they are today)
