Relax. People here are just excited about their team. Yes, some of the talk borders on ridiculous but hey it's good to see people excited. You have to remember this team was written off and left for dead just a week ago. We all got hear the smug gloating from the "talking heads" over their predictions of a collapse for the Saints. So of course everyone's here excited about a 18 point victory over our bitter rivals.......

im tired of people on here saying we need to calm down... WE'RE FANS!!!!! i've called a saints super bowl victory every year that i can remember. it's not up to us to stay focused and play the games. it's our job to get excited that we finally have some wins to cheer about

Yeah, the Falcons didn't really want to win the game. It wasn't important to their season. How silly of me to enjoy the win. How silly of me to think it was a huge win. I feel so foolish, now. :hihi:

What's needed here is some even-keel thinking.

The Saints very well may go to the superbowl, or they can lose enough close games, while being competitive, and miss the playoffs.

It's up in the air.

But here's the bottom line: this offense SCARES the competitors. Defensive coordinators dred playing the Saints. And for the most part, the team has played smart, disciplined football all year. They've already shown resiliency.

The Saints can score points and have one of the hottest qb's in football. The defense has shown weaknesses at times, especially in the secondary.

But this team can play with anybody, if they just protects the football. The schedule is tough, but the Saints have the talent to beat every single team remaining on the schedule.

The NFC is a bit more muddled and there's more parody. A 9-7 record very well may earn a division victory or at least a playoff spot. Let's be realistic here--the Saints in the NFC are one of the more consistent better teams right now, by virtue of how they've played and their record.

I don't see a complete collapse, but I don't see absolute domination. I'm hoping to go 3-2 down the stretch and secure that 10th win which should secure a playoff spot.

And getting into the playoffs is like starting another season.

History has shown that the Saints collapse down the stretch, blow it at the end, but quite frankly, I really don't see it here because of the coaching, players, and attitude this team as shown throughout the season. They've only been thoroughly whipped two times this season--other than that, they've taken teams down nearly to the wire.

There's too much parody right now to predict what'll happen in the NFC. But I don't think Saints will totally collapse; I'm hoping they'll squeeze out enough wins to get into the tournament, and hopefully get one of those games at home.

Bottom line is that 10 games into the season, the Saints are right where they want to be to make a push towards the postseason.

fans aren't supposed to think like that we're supposed to be crazy and think impossible things of our team.. this year it seems like it might be possibel

parity :ezbill:

sorry, couldn't help it.

people need to calm down...still 5 games to go

We aren't the players. We can get as obsessed as we can get and it won't change one single thing.

I'd think more damage could actually be done by trying to dampen everyone's enthusiasm.

I'm not scared of being excited.

Congratulations! You are TODAY'S winner!

The Saints (presumably a team you are enthusiastic about) are the #2 seed in the NFC after 11 games (nearly 3/4 of the season). Enjoy it now because you may not be able to in 5 weeks. Maybe putting a downer twist on looking on the bright side will work for you.

Wow.... You guys are being hard on someone who has his own OPINION... ease up folks !!! He may be preventing us from being so up, then coming on here posting a bunch of negative threads because we lost....I am very excited to..but there is still 5 games left..When we are in the playoffs..celebrate..go easy on the dude......DANG !

Totally agree.

Best team in the NFC? Why not? Have you seen this teams in this Conference lately? Inconsistency across the board. I'm trying to be realistic, but, at the same time, why not just enjoy the fact that we're winning games and are in very good position to make the playoffs? There certainly wasn't anything to get excited about this time last year.

No no. You've got it wrong. If simmonstwin had simply expressed a personal opinion, I don't think anyone would be jumping on him. The explosive reaction was to the coming down on others of their own opinions and enthusiasm.

That's not expressing a level headed opinion. That's being a downer to everyone else. Big difference when we're supposed to be among friends and family here.
