Anyone kayak fish? (1 Viewer)

I'd go demo some for sure before you buy.

The wind can be brutal, but it's manageable.

I was looking on Craigslist for kayaks and came across this one. Way more than I want to pay, but was just curious what you guys think about it. I honestly don't know much about kayak fishing. My brother in law has been bugging me to get one though so I can go out with him.

Do you own this boat? I went to the boat show in Gonzales today. The exhibit guys talked down a good bit about the brand. Any trouble with the seat?

I've only owned Hobies. The reviews are good.

The Hobie is just too much boat for me. I need something I could easily load onto the roof of my car. And it has to be able to get into my shed. I think the slayer is the answer. I just need to sell my bike. Want to buy a motorcycle?

Lol no.

I'd definitely demo it though before you buy. Have you talked to Masseys?

No. I'm not that far into it. I'm selling the bike regardless, which will create the expendable cash for the purchase. So first things first. Then I'll get serious. I may stop by Massey's soon though, just to chat. My office is very nearby.

Lol, someone is red thumbing every post I make on here.

I'm looking at the Hobie Revolution 11. Any thoughts? It looks to be the right size and weight for me.

Interestingly enough, the wife is all over this idea. She asked me twice last week when I was buying my kayak. She wants to borrow her cousin's boat so we can go out together. Awesome. :)

Check out Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club

I never used one, but Hobies are one of the best.

Thanks. I'll join there and get some ideas. Now I'm going back and forth thinking the slayer propel 10 again. It seems wider and more stable. I also like the idea of reverse to slow into a fishing spot.

The Propels are definitely intriguing... I've read that their pedal system tends to need maintenance often. I'd ask people who own them though. Also demo if you can.

Just found this thread. I have an original Jackson Cuda - by that I mean that I had the model before they came out with the 12' and it was just "Cuda". I am "Fisher Cutbait" on BCKFC.
