The president-elect of the Christian Coalition of America has declined the job, saying the organization wouldn't let him expand its agenda beyond opposing abortion and gay marriage.

The previous mid-term seemed to suggest many of the christian values voters who had previously been solidly Republican were beginning to expand their values to include issues such as poverty and enviromentalism. I suppose this can be considered to support that assertion.

So, basically the entire agenda of this organization is centered around sexual behavior.

Heh, heh. The long-term possibilities are intriguing.

I'd be more interested in seeing Dr. Melfi analyze why that is.

"Tell me about your mother..."

Glad to see more of their leaders abandoning Christianism.

I thought gay marriage and abortion were the only Evangelical values? Jesus rarely talked about poverty, but spoke profusely about banning gay marriage and outlawing abortion. Odd.

Eliminate poverty and the number of abortions would decrease dramatically anyway.

Post, abortion is a pretty hot button topic anyway, poverty or without it, people are always going to find a reason to support it, You know it annoys me to see far left people mock people of faith and openly be hypocritical of their own ideas of religous tolerance and openness. I wish some people on the left would practice what they preach sometimes and not have to resort to using nasty attacks on people who hate abortion as a bunch of right wing religous nut jobs led by the religous right. That my freinds in using an unfair generalization and putting stereotypes together.

Let me clue it in, not every body who hates abortion like me is a right wing Evegelical Repubican that you hear on damn college campuse is the scum of the earth. Some of these people are honest hard working people who God Forbid may be thinking that abortion is wrong, sure it may be a choice, but how do you know you are making the right choice?

The same people who scream the death penalty should be abolished are contradicting to me becuase they say that human life is precious and a person should be reehabilated, while they seem to seem be all too quiet on abortion.

Its all Smear on both sides IMHO. they are both of bS if you ask me
