Camp body?

Possibly. Or the timetable for Lewis to return is uncertain.

32 year old former speedster at corner.

Could do much worse if we need another veteran in our secondary.

Who are we releasing? Or is someone going on IR?

Strange......with the relatively positive news about Keenan Lewis coming out and with the group of young players the team has at CB this is a strange signing. There may be a more serious injury to someone we don't know about yet.

Breaux's gonna be okay, right?

Washed out bum. Play the young guys.

Lol no. He may not be what he was in his prime, but he is a solid veteran. If we were looking for a camp body, we would look at a ton of UDFA type talent that are still waiting for a call. He may not make the team even if we do sign him, but we could do a lot worse. He is far from a "camp body" or a "washed out bum".

He would probably get the Nicks and/Kuhn treatment. If he works out, great; if not nothing is lost. Better chance than a camp body, but not a guaranteed roster spot either. It isn't like we would sign him and pencil him in as a starter. The "young guys" have nothing to worry about (the young ones with promise like Swann and Williams).

We were missing 3 CBs last night. Could use 1 if Lew will b on the shelf for a while

Or it could be the best move available to prepare for any missed time by Lewis. Best fit for the budget, too.

Those of us who might be of a certain age and grew up watching Jim Mora and Jim Finks sit on their collective butts for several years NOT preparing to replace the Dome Patrol still might be new to the whole preparation thing.

And I'll remind that the team once plucked a seemingly "done" Mike McKenzie and Chris McAlister and beat Belichick and Brady like a bunch of rented mules :9:
