Now that Armstead is back, it's been said that Peat will go back to the Guard position. Problem is from what I hear Peat has been getting dominated in camp and whether we like it or not he's likely to be one of the two starting Guards. My question is will someone stake their claim to the other spot tonight? and if so who will it be? Lelito, Kelemete, Turner or someone else?

I'm hoping that Landon Turner pancakes one of the Texans' starters.

Not that likely, but hey... why not dream? :ezbill:

Seriously, I'm hoping that both Jack Allen and Landon Turner shine tonight vs. a stout Texans' defense, both in the run and pass game.

If peat continues to struggle he may not start at start of season.

I don't think the line will be what it is until next season. Peat is a face playing guard that alone tells you how much depth we have at the position. I'm hoping for a trade or picking up a veteran after the rosters get cut down who after a few weeks of practicing can get up to speed and play opposite Lelito and out Peat back at the tackle spot.

I'm hoping they all shine

Clearly the biggest unknown is at the OG positions. Not sure the two starters are now on the roster so I will not be surprised if we pick up a veteran at cutdown or trade for a guy like Leary, if the price is no higher than a 5th!

From what I've seen and heard, if Turner gets his hands on someone, they're as good as finished. His biggest bugaboo is getting his hands on peope as he's not the most fleet of foot...but there are ways around that. Superior technique for one can overcome athletic shortcomings.

I think it was Larry holder said Lelito had the edge , in his view , over SK at LG and Peat at RG

Are you (OP) looking for a finished product in week two of preseason? Chances are zero.

Everyone knew the offensive line was going to need an injection of talent this year. Unfortunately, the Saints decided to roll the dice with what they had and they failed miserably.

the saints have a ton of talent at other positions, better hope they can trade a couple of those pieces into a couple of guards that can do their job. 2 yards a carry will kill an offense.
