This is no longer an Offensive team. It's now an Defensive team. (1 Viewer)

Saints consistently field a top 5 offense yet you feel it's no longer a strength because of a preseason game?

Our two best receivers don't dress out and we don't gameplan against an NFL defense.... Also, we have played mediocre offenses with Brock Osweiler and Jimmy Garropalo as the starting quarterback. Albeit, there's no doubting our defense will be much improved, we'll still be an offensive team.

We have never looked good against an attacking 3-4 with drew and Sean. Team looks totally different against any other defense.

Exactly.

This is by far the worst we've looked up front in the Payton era, even for preseason. We've always been soft and marginal in the run game save for a couple of seasons, but lately we can't pass block well either and it's getting worse.

Strief was embarrassed by Clowney as bad as he was by Watt last year:

We have to be better up front to do anything this year. It was terrible. Got marginally better with the 2s and 3s but 1s were awful. Coaches have to have the guts to do something with Streif, settle Peat in ONE place and maybe still make a move with guard.

It's obviously a problem or you haven't really been paying attention to Saints football the last 10 years. We are a weak running program but tonight we were under 2.0 YPC after being under 3.0 YPC last week. That's miserable pre-season or not. Shameful.

Might have moved he needle a bit with Lasco but with 1s against 1s we were under 2.0 YPC. That is total domination at basic football.

Don't understand why everyone is surprised a 32yr old RT got beat by the best passrusher to come out in the last 5 years and went #1 overall. Try to actually middle with what your are seeing. Strief is an average RT. There are some battles he will be out classes...that's why you take Peat 1st last year.

Problem is he isn't panning out for whatever reason but Strief is far from the actual problem on that oline.

The reason lies in the answer to this question:

What position does Peat play?

We don't know the answer, because the Saints coaches don't know the answer. He's changed positions in the lineup more than a career petty criminal.

It's kind of hard to be good at something when the something keeps changing.

I'm not surprised at all.

My point is, Streif is not just losing battles against the Watts and Clowneys, which is going to happen. He's getting utterly embarrassed. Total ownage. He's a year older now. Do you think his feet are going to get quicker as this season wears on?

Is Peat really that much worse now or are we being overly loyal to the Vet as we have seen before? Peat was pretty good not great when he had to play last year. Stop shuffling him and settle him in at RT and pass the baton.

Don't know what to do about the G situation.
