Breaux, Williams and Swann are the top 3 so that leaves

DaVante Harris, Ken Crawley, Brian Dixon and Courtland Finnegan as the top candidates with Jimmy Pruitt and Brandon Dixon as longshots.

Harris pros excellent agility and instincts, confidence and hard worker. Cons average speed

Crawley pros excellent overall athleticism, length and upside cons only now is he truely learning the position

Finnegan pros experience and leadership cons 32 years old and declining skills

Brian Dixon pros excellent length and speed, Gretchen special teams player cons a bit stiff and has striving coverage (though Aaron Glenn could change that

Brandon Dixon pros size, strength cons average athleticism and poor instincts

Jimmy Pruitt pros size, strength, smart and very good instincts cons below average speed and athleticism

With our injury history at CB do you think we keep 6?

Beaux, Williams, Swann, Harris, Crawley, Finnegan.

That would leave two outside starters, two outside backups and two nickle cb's.

Too bad one of these dudes doesn't excel at returning kickoffs/punts.

Wouldn't be surprised if we kept 6

Bureaux, Williams, Swann, Harris, Crawley and the 6th would be Brian Dixon.

With the huge improvement Aaron Glenn has made in Crawley I wonder what kind of impact he has had on Brian Dixon.

My thinking as well. Maybe we keep an extra corner and one less safety? IDK. We'll get a better picture of it when the first wave of cuts goes through.

I don't think the Dixon's make the cut. If they do it's solely because of ST.

not sure, i think they're locked in to 3 safety sets - Byrd is brittle, Vonn is new, KV loves running into brick walls - we might need to keep some depth there

I was just using safety as an example. Logically, I'd think maybe they keep one less linebacker since everyone seems to be mostly healthy there and we actually have some depth.

The spot could come from anywhere really. Even the other side of the ball. We'll see.

FB, TE, or WR maybe.

Cuts are going to be hard. It sucks even more that we'll need o-line depth and to keep 3 qbs.

It would be great if Grayson went all world against the steelers.

Good point and I would not keep 3 QB's on the 53. Not when we need help in other areas.

I'm thinking 6 corners 5 safeties.

Everyone thinking Brian Dixon is a lock due to ST's might be in for a shocker. You'd think he'd be competing with another corner but he could easily be competing with a gunner elsewhere on the roster like Lasco.

We kind of get caught up pitting position vs position when sometimes its a little deeper than that.

This is what I was kinda getting at. To keep 6 corners, the space could be made from any position group.

I don't know what number in the rankings they'll be, but I don't see how Harris and Crawley are not going to be on the team.

Definitely this. And I'd be very comfortable with this CB corps!
