Just watched it this morning and 2 early plays defined the game for me.

First play from scrimmage the ball is popped in the air and flies for 10 yards, and there wasn't a Saints defender in sight. Byrd was his customary 20 yards out of position.

After the Steelers first TD, Spiller runs the kick back, is knocked out of bounds, and his momentum carried him all the way to the bench. Not one Saint player tried to slow him down. I mean, this is a guy who was injured last year, is your teammate, and you can't tried to frickin' help him????

Other thoughts:

Drew Bress is not human.

Willie Snead, what can you say about that catch that hasn't been said already??

I really like Tommy Lee Lewis.

Byrd is a waste of oxygen. On a 2nd and 10 in the redzone he was lined up 20 yards down field. Either he is one dumb player, or someone in the Saint's D coaching staff is.

Vacarro makes a lot of tackles, unfortunately they usually come 7 yards downfield. He also got torched on one of the TDs.

Speaking of torched, the D was by both the starter and the backup. Breaux looked good, I like Trapp's hustle and Elerbee had a couple of nice plays.

Ingram, Spiller and Hightower all ran well. Too bad the O line in front of them is so bad. Shame on the Saints for not addressing this issue in the off season.

Overall I would give the Saints an "Ugh". Judging by the play of the starters only, Brees will keep us in some games and get a lot of passing yards. The D will be one of the worst in the league (again, for how many years in a row?). I'm not impressed with Dennis Allen and I don't know what the Saints saw in him after Ryan was fired to make them say let's keep him. Ingram, Spiller and Hightower will all play hard but will not have much blocking.
