I wouldn't mind seeing N.O. make play for this guy. Graded out well pre draft , Gruden was high on his football IQ and quick release.

Murray was a very good quarterback at Georgia. That injury his senior year was devastating and probably cost him his chance of ever being a true NFL starting QB.

Rumor had it we liked him that year but only in a certain range. 5th round I believe at the time was the value we'd put on QB's and the Chiefs nabbed him a few picks b4 we did if I'm not mistaken.

Did he get cut? I would certainly take him over Grayson.

Let's face it, if Drew goes down, we are not going to win many games. We should trade McCown to Dallas for their guard and improve the offensive line. Also should acquire Murray and start the backup QB competition for next year. With Murray, we can rebuild the QB position and have serious competition for Grayson.

Murray has Brees-like qualities. I would love to see Murray in black and gold. Now that's a QB I'd be excited about. Grayson's just not looking good at all.

If I'm not mistaken, Murray actually looks up to Brees and models his game after him. This guy needs the coaching and mentoring (CSP and DB) can provide because he was an excellent QB in college and an intelligent pocket passer. He needs to go to a good QB guru like Sean Payton.

An ACL tear? Thats much better for a QB than say a complete shoulder tear......

Andy Reid knows QBs. If he cut the guy, there's probably a good reason.

Because he's "undersized" (just like someone we love dearly), but he has good football knowledge and a strong arm to make all the throws. He was a great quarterback in college who led a really talented offense. Put talent around him and he will get the ball to them. I dont think the Cheifs can do that for him.

I liked Murray at Georgia but honestly no clue if he is an upgrade over what we have.... he was let go for a reason as stated above.

It isn't a slight against Murray. Reid likes Foles a great deal, and has him as Smith's understudy. Tyler Bray has a cannon as the fourth quarterback. Those factors kinda make a solid and dependable third string player unnecessary.

Murray can be a good player, but he has a low ceiling in my opinion.

You say this as if Dallas wants to trade Leary for McCown, and WE are the ones holding it up.

I would guess you aren't even close.

Why would Dallas want a 35 year old career backup?

I like McCown, but he's a backup. I know that, he knows that, everyone knows that. No shame in that.

But I'm not sure they are out their offering Leary for him.
