For the most part (didn't see all of the game) especially when the game was on the line last night Seattle fans knew when to start making noise. Even though they were loud (not louder than we can be) they knew when the visiting team form the huddle to start making noise. Having an open stadium took away some of their noise.

We on the other hand don't get it. We start screaming after the team break the huddle. Wrong!! Our team is doing their part, playing their heart out, our coaches are doing their part trying to make us winners. We as fans have not done our part since opening night 9-25-06.

Let's go down in history with our team this year. We have the ability to make the dome the loudest place to play in the NFL this year. We just need to know when to bring it and substain it. I have a few suggestions on how we can improve our noise level and bring awareness to the folks who really don't know, but I would like to hear you guys suggestions and what do you intend to do about it?

According to Coach Payton speech to the team after the game Sunday he's looking for some difference makers.

i have said this before......first, the saints need to get the crowd going...that is their job....against baltimore and cincy, the crowd was out of the game because the saints were playing poorly....look, i scream every defensive play, but some people get dejected with a bad play and sit and pout.....

I thought the "we need to be louder" threads didn't start until Thursday?

That's true....except this week since we don't have any nickname threads going we should start early.

Unless y'all want to start calling our "bend, don't break" defense the
"bendables"?

Ruprict, I think you just jinxed us with the nickname threads!

I contribute some of the "lack of noise" to the TV timeout and breaks in the action MUSIC THAT IS PLAYED IN THE DOME. Playing music from GNARLS BARKLEY doesnt exactly pump up the crowd, or team for that matter. Something with some tempo and meaning ( situational music ) would help tremendously! On third down and 10 I cant scream " Crazy" and think it will affect the opposition.

No way I'd go for "bendables". What about "Plastic Men"?

I disagree also. The intensity in the dome the night of the Falcons game will never be matched ever again. I really believe that was a once in a lifetime event that can never be compared to. Now I do believe we tried to do our part in the Cinci game, but two turnovers in the endzone and watching chad johnson run up and down the field took us out of it.

from where i sat, the eagles game was just as loud....and for the entire game.....we put atlanta away early and they never even started to come back......as for the philly game, the crowd was loud the whole 60 minutes

Yeah, you can't fight that. That'll take any fan out of the game.

I'm so tired of this. Were you in Seattle? Do you know where the microphones were placed? Are Saints fans really any different than others? No.No. And no.

I'm in the Dome every home game and I can assure you it's plenty loud enough. In fact I've noticed more opponents' false starts during the games where we supposedly didn't "bring it" than during the Falcons game.

The whole part about the team doing their part and the fans not is silly. Did the fans turn the ball over multiple times during the Ravens and Bengals game? No. those are two examples where the team didn't do their part. Loud stadiums are nice but a good team has to win regardless. Low crowd noise is absolutely no excuse for a couple of butt whippings!

These threads tend to become very redundant throughout the course of a season. It is also very aggravating to have people constantly say that we don't do our jobs. I know for a fact that I scream my butt off at games along with thousands of other people inside that Dome. A missing voice is a sign of that.

We have been very vocal as fans. Philly, TB and every other game as well. Even dating back to the sparse crowds at Tiger Stadium. We will scream for our Saints as usual, but to say that we have not done our part since the Monday Night opener, which in my opinion was a once in a lifetime type game, is a load of garbage.
