Reason 78373983 is on right now and has been off and on the last 10 minutes.. They are broadcasting from various restaurants around Austin.. You would think nothing happened in the sports world yesterday.

Dude, it's sportscenter on a Sunday morning. They always do goofy on location crap like that. Considering Texas is playing Notre Dame tonight, I'd say broadcasting from all over Austin makes total sense.

Great thread though.

You are correct.
The OP is correct as well...ESPN still sucks.

Well do we really need to know again how LSU lost yesterday?

Where do you want them to broadcast from? Alabama/USC was the ABC prime time game and Texas plays Notre Dame in Austin.

They have to find a way to waste time while they overhype another blow out waiting to happen

Can we just be happy football is back at least? Now on that note I must admit the Scott Van Pelt show on ESPN is a decent watch. Other than that the network is what it is.

What do you people watch anyway? You don't like ESPN or NFL network. We all need to be more thankful for all this sports programming nowadays.
Most of you all are too young to remember the days when all we had was an hr. "Wide world of Sports" show on Sat. afternoon. My land, will you all quit crying. I'm sure all us Saints fans will have enough to cry about once this NFL season starts.

I don't really watch sports related programming outside of live games. It's mostly all idiocy and nonsense, anyway. Have no use for made up narratives related to players and games (that will then be repeated ad nauseum by the announcers during the game instead of actually, ya know, calling the game), all the goofy pomp and circumstance, hours of pregame hype, hours of post game "analysis" that offers nothing of value, there is no reason to watch for highlights anymore because the internet now allows you on demand access to them mere seconds after the plays occur, etc.

Basically, everything about sports programming is terrible except for the actual games. And those are getting increasingly rough to sit through for their entirety.
