In a couple of weeks, on September 21, CBS will begin airing the 33rd season of Survivor. This one is titled "Survivor: Millenials vs Gen X," and that pretty much explains the concept of the season.

The castaways are divided into two tribes, one is 'Vanua,' and is made up of Millenials ranging in age from 18 to 31. The other is 'Takali,' and is made up of Gen X'ers ranging in age from 33-52. The idea is to see if today's youth (who are perceived as entitled and lazy) will live up to that expectation...and if the people from GenX will demonstrate that hard work ethic that they are supposedly known for.

And...the one twist that Jeff has given us a tease of is the hidden immunity idol. Players may (ok, we know they WILL) find a clue that says "yes, there’s an idol somewhere down here amongst these shells. Good luck." It sounds like there will be a certain shell on the beach somewhere that is the idol...all you have to do is figure out which one it is.

He also says that while Fiji has milder weather than Khaoh Rhong had last season, the weather does play a factor early on, and it was scary....but it all worked out.

The dude in the blue shorts in the bottom picture reminds me of the Yoga instructor in couple retreat. "Encouragement!"

LMAO CBS. Generation X known for their hard work ethic???

It's the slacker generation.

Well, that wasn't their statement, it was someone else who used that term....

But, if you think that Gen X is the slacker generation compared to Millenials......

I told my wife to bring me some coffee along with my laptop. Someone has to fluff my pillows before I login to SR.

Every generation is the slacker generation to the generation that came before them.

Because teens - 20 somethings are slackers.. and 30 somethings usually have to finally get off their arse and do something.

Plus technology just makes most tasks easier to accomplish.

So I guess "Generation Y" is reserved for just us 32 year olds now

No, they just replaced Gen Y with Millennials.

Honestly, there are a good number of us that are technically Tweeners. I'm 36, and I find that a lot my age are sort of between Gen X and Millennials. Because most true millennials don't really remember a time before the internet, or they were too young to notice.

Well, I think that gets into an argument there. Most Gen Xer's, especially the younger ones were young during the technology revolution of computers and the internet. Yet, we also know what life was like before smart phones.

So, I'm not sure you can say the M's vs X'ers boils down to just technology. It's the level of consumption. And what's better? Knowing when to use it and when not to? Or always using it as a crutch and having no idea what to do when it goes down?

Granted, I tend to equate a millennial with my 14 yr old step son, so perhaps that's not fair, since he's too young to know how to do a lot. haha.

This sounds like a good opportunity to take a small sample size and assign their characteristics to an entire demographic. I'm sure the producers had fun hand picking their participants with this one.

They already got one guy in a man bun. Two more that could do a man bun in the Millennial group. And one guy with a cheesy mustache. If only there was a guy with a giant beard, they'd have the trifecta.

That's true....but *SUPPOSEDLY* they don't come up with the idea of how the tribes will be divided until after casting is done....

Those two guys look nothing alike. The only similarities are that they are fit and are wearing skimpy underwear.

Did you have certain feelings about hot dudes in bikini shorts that makes you clump them all together?
