We play the Broncos in Nov. Very concerned about the defense and their headhunting spears to Cam's head. (1 Viewer)

I'm ecstatic the panties lost and look, I know the majority of us don't like Cam. I know I don't. But that is because of who he plays for and he gets a little too egotistical on the field. However, as a football player and human, he took around 4-5 severe blows to the head from helmet-to-helmet contact. If you look at the footage posted below you can see it's clear the defense was headhunting. Literal helmet-to-helmet blows. I don't care who is getting hit, those should not be allowed. We play this defense this season. Are any of you concerned about this? Especially with our O-line?....

The next one shows clear spearing to the head. He could easily have just wrapped him up.

I mean, Cam is going to be upset when he finds out his team lost the game. All three times they tell him.

Good post by the OP.

Our offense will be off the chain sick this year, and Drew will be able to burn any up-front or disguised blitzes.

To your point: Yes, Cam should have had a MANDATORY concussion protocol after he fell face down. He was dazed for several seconds and couldn't move.

:gosaints:

The one on the sack was a clean hit. There was no head hunting on that play at all. He just happened to be getting pulled down bc he was get sacked, when he got pulled down it pulled his head to the level or target area of where the other player was aiming. The other one was targeting. But, you cry like a baby and run your mouth all game and you get popped. Lesson learned for the wanna be superman.

their D is pretty dang good......I worry about our O line's head if anyone's. SP does a pretty good job of addressing the rush to keep Drew safe but there will probably be o line body parts on the field after this one.

I understand your concern but there is the one factor that you might have overlooked.
Drew is a well respected and liked QB almost all over the league including several players. (Remember JJ Watts comment last year when he was mic'd up?)

Cam ... is Cam and the Broncos remember some of his actions/comments or lack of after their last game.

Yes... some of those hit's shoud have been punished harder and Cam should have been send for a check but I don't believe they will attack Drew like that.

One other reason is... Cam Newton is massive athlet. Strong, tall, heavy.
If you want to bring him down is it needed to bring in heavy force.

Drew is an artist!
He is a master of the art of throwing the ball and commanding his team but not a physical warrior.

My hope is that Drew is so much shorter than Cam that those spearing defenders will just fly over his head. ;)

Actually I don't worry so much because Drew gets rid of the ball much quicker than Cam and he doesn't roll out and run as much as Cam either.

I hope you're right :|

Stay your *** in the pocket and get rid of the ball quickly--this is what Drew Brees is good at

I'm not expecting the Broncos to headhunt on Brees. He's not a primadonna who taunts opponents. As far as the Panthers griping about cheap shots, pot, kettle, black

I think that was more of a Cam Newton being Cam Newton punishment than anything else. I don't think they would go after every QB like that, but they were just reassuring him that they still had his number.

Another thought...if they continue that type of play, they might not being playing that game or have had multiple fines that cause them to think twice.

One of those sacks I don't think was head hunting. Sham Newton was going down already and it would have been a clean a hit.

I'm not going to worry about it for now, just going to watch this video a few more times and giggle.

I'm sure the league office will be sending some letters out to the Bronco's today after seeing some of the plays.

I'm sure most of those hits were related to Cam Newton being a total arrogant prick. A lot of defenses want to put big hits on him. I'm more worried about how we plan to handle Denver's relentless pass rush.

Drew isn't going to run the read option and establish himself as a runner anytime soon, so I'm not as worried about it.

The shots Cam took last night are a direct result of trying to be a "running" QB.

He's honestly lucky he didn't get blown up on some of the reverses where he went out to block.

Both Denver's and the Panther's defense have some TERRIBLE corner play. Drew, if given time, will target them early and often.
