We competed, we played with heart, we just came up short. The next game will be important as to how we respond. I actually feel better about this team. We can definitely be 7-9 or .500. Great learning experience for this young team, Lutz included. Everyone got their money's worth if they attended this game.

Let's spit the bad taste out of our mouths, strap up and get at it again next week. There are a number of areas to improve in (running game, pass rush) but these things may improve as the season goes along. We have to find creative ways to get at the QB. We really miss Rankins and Kikaha...hopefully Breaux can return in a couple of weeks.

Can't say anything bad about the effort. If Breaux doesn't get hurt, we win. If not for that terrible pass interference call we win. Hopefully the defense learned it can't just play one good half of football.

It was a good game, i did not like the drive extending calls on PJ and Roberson though i ygink Roberson oushed him when he didnt have to but those plays were called on their game winning drive.

Stop it.

It's a young team man. We're missing Rankins...that injury was huge!

It was an entertaining game, we ended up on the losing side. The o-line played much better than expected although Brees got leveled a number of times. The first FG that Lutz missed was crucial...he should have hit the 50-yarder. An excellent attempt for the 61-yarder...I think he'll get better.

I definitely agree with you RB, the effort was good.

The way people were acting, we should've been blown out.

Yeah, a loss is a loss.

But our 2011 team lost a very tough opener. Yeah, it was on the road. But that game had moments to make you tear your hair out...

NEWSFLASH

That's how close games get lost. Can anyone visualize a close loss that could occur in a way that doesn't upset you somehow? If it's a low scoring close game, our offense isn't moving the ball. Maybe some drops or turnovers that would be the thread focus.

If it's a shoot out, like today, defense gets the brunt of the anger and so on.

I'm not worried at all. I saw exactly what I expected. Offensive line improved. We moved the ball at will. Defense was doing well...but then Breaux got hurt and things fell apart like a conjugated song by The Roots.

The Saints gave up 35 to the Raiders in the Superdome. It's hard to think this is any different than any of the previous 2 seasons.

The good ship Lolly pop sails on for some apparently. This team is not going to make a splash this year. We are too young and are a number of pieces short especially when our best players are getting hurt.

When you cannot pressure the other teams QB you will get beat in this league week after week as we know with Drew the NFL is a QB driven game.

We may have weakest passrush in the league and its not getting better any time soon. We will get beat like this mucn more this season and its so frustrating to know there is nothing that will or can be done about it.

SIGH :idunno:

Definitely be 7-9? Ha. I'd rather us go 1-15 than finish 7-9 again. At least we'll get the top pick.

I didn't anticipate Breaux being out for 8-10 (??) weeks with a broken fibula. Now that I'm aware of this, I think the season is done. That was an injury we couldn't afford--not more than a week or two. So we may be closer to 1-15 than 7-9.
