I would blitz Eli like crazy. We are overmatched in the secondary, no doubt. We would get beat even with those safeties covering. Send those safeties and rattle Eli. Maybe a linebacker or two. We might as well get pressure on Eli, it might pay off with a turnover or two.

I was just gonna create a thread about today's defensive gameplan.

I think Allen is in a tough spot here. I remember Gregg Williams not caring who he had at CB... he blitzed the hell out of offenses regardless. We played a game on Halloween against the Steelers and we were hurting at CB... so much so that Malcolm Jenkins had to start at CB. Didn't matter... Williams blitzed Big Ben relentlessly and we actually did OK.

Allen is in a similar situation here, and he has a tough decision to make. I think he's gonna play a very conservative defense today with alot of 3-man rushes. I think he's scared to death of what NYG can do offensively... he's seen this 1st hand last year. he wasn't the DC, but he was on the staff and helped with the gameplan.

Me personally... I would blitz. If you're gonna rush 3 and let Eli have his way with your defense you might as well blitz him and make him hurry his throws. Eli does much better when he has time than he does when he's hurried.

I don't care if we sack him... make him uncomfortable.

I agree with this. No one can cover for 5 seconds. We need to blitz to make the pass rush average. It will help coverage.

Plus Sterling Moore is starting at CB. That will help. He could be our most important late signing.

just line up and have confidence you can play well and get some stops blitzing every play isn't the answer no experience so things will be bad before they get better. I also hope and expect the pass rush to be better this week after a no show last week.

I don't think it is ever a question of whether we blitz or not on defense. The real issue is blitzing when they do not expect it, and not blitzing when they do.
