Myth that we have a bad Oline (1 Viewer)

I know the board is real emotional right now but can we please stop saying that we have a bad offensive line. They have been great through two games. I said many times during the preseason that we would end up with a top 10 Oline. I think I didn't give our guys enough credit. They may well end up as a top five unit. People on here act like Brees should never be touched. Guess what? It's football and people get hit.

A ton of posters on here praised the Vikings Oline in preseason among other teams. This board would be exploding if Brees got hit as much as Bradford or Rogers got hit tonight.

If we can somehow climb back to 2-2 before the bye week then we still have a shot.

We had questionable guard play not a bad offensive line but complaining about our talent is the only way threads are created these days but Jahri has helped solidify a line that already had veteran talent in Armstead, Unger and Strief and talented lineman in Leat and for whatever Evans is has lost in talent is retained in experience and roughness.

I think Brees and our cute designer offense makes this OL look WAY better than it is. Put another QB back the sacks would mounting up. Also, have another coach that doesn't utilize quick out plays or screens and other spread plays to get the D off balance we would be getting mauled. When we get behind on down and distance and we become predictable, this line gets shredded.

Anyways, you say top 5......how would you compare this line to the ones we had in 09 and 11?

I don't remember which year it was - I think 2009 - but the line won the Madden award for best OL in the league. (voted on by who? I have no clue.)
