Beat the Clowns tonight, on a decent showing from both offense and defense, and the Saints will virtually restart their 2016 season. The "ifs" pointed out by other posters on other threads came true, Tampa and Carolina lost, so a win by the Saints tonight will put them on top of the NFC South.

Sure, being on top of the division with a losing record isn't exactly optimal, but the goal is to win the division. So, here is the Saints' chance to clean the slate. Granted, losing to the Giants leaves a smudge on the slate, but still... lots of games to play.

I don't think that means what you think that means. Still it fits, just not like you suggest.

Each season would be a blank slate as it's a beginning. Each game would be a data written to build the experience of the team. Essentially, we don't have a clean slate tonight, but we will have a significant portion written.

I know exactly what tabula rasa means.

In philosophy, it is a term used to describe the idea that individuals are born without pre-convieved knowledge, and all knowledge comes from experience and perception.

In Latin, it literally means "erased tablet" .

But thanks for the put down.

Given the actual meaning of tabula rasa, it has always been my contention that philosophy is using the term wrong.

I tried to warn you about Latin on the SSF.
