I'm frustrated for Drew Brees.

He's the face of the New Orleans Saints . He has maintained a calm public persona through the years of losing despite his continued elite quarterback production.

I don't know how he does it.

Brees doesn't cast blame for the team's losing ways. When he's asked about possibly being agitated for scoring X amount of points and still losing a game, he, like clockwork, has said the offense just needed to score more points.

Brees' efforts for the majority of his Saints career have been squandered.

Brees entered Week 4 leading the NFL in passing yards (1,062) and completions (93). He ranked tied for first with Tampa Bay's Jameis Winston with eight touchdown passes. Brees also ranks fifth in quarterback rating at 105.1.

i bet he cries everytime he looks down at his ring or his account balances.

get the **** outta here with that ****.

Dan Marino and Warren Moon say hello.

Marino suffered through 2 losing seasons in his career 11 years apart and his QB rating over those two seasons were in the 70's.

Warren Moon never had a losing season when his QB rating was above 80.

Brees is well on his way to his 4th losing season in the last 5 years with a QB rating over 100 during that stretch.

There is no comparison. There isn't a comparison even close.

I'm willing to bet that Brees has missed the playoffs when passing for a 100QB rating during a season more than every other QB in the history of the NFL combined. That's how bad it is.

Sadly, it's so mind boggling, so sad and so wrong that in the end the Payton legacy will be thought of first as "how did you do so little with that talent?"

If you care about offensive stats he did a lot. If you care about wins and challenging for championships 'squandered' is the right word.

Poor Coaching
Poor management across all three phases of the game, and personnel. So poor in two of the phases that even arguably the best and most efficient QB of all time was not enough to compensate.

Let's face it. The D has been awful for several years in a row and it hasn't been corrected. Loomis and Payton need to be held accountable for that.

I agree. At least Brees has 1 Super Bowl. These guys and a few others were great yet always played on bad teams. Brees has only had bad teams about 50% of the time though it isn't getting any better.
