Well, as long as the ratings go back up after Election Day, then their point will be validated.

I think Peyton retiring and Brady missing 4 games hasn't helped either.

Or these "its my constitutional right" idiots.. Probably not a big number but I refuse to watch SF when they are on like last night.. So that impacts .0000000001 on the SF TV ratings....

So you're protesting against them, what a concept...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If that really is the reason, then the NFL was the biggest house of straw(man) ever built

Penalties, commercials, on field product, and game times.

Every flag needs to be thrown within an approximate count of "1-miss-iss-ippi-2", or else it doesn't need to be thrown at all. If it's taking you longer than that to decide if it's a penalty, then maybe it should be allowed to slide.

Late flags need to become inexcusable.

I'd bet you aren't the only one and the percentage is above 1%

I don't allow the kneeling or fist-raising crybabies to dictate what I watch. I was watching NFL before their little copycat fad started, and I'll be watching it long after.

So... it has nothing to do with the rules committee coming up with all of these ridiculous and shortsighted new rules... some of which have changed the tradition of the game, not to mention others leading to bad officiating? It has nothing to do with Roger Goodell's incredible history of mishandling player discipline? Nothing to do with the outlandish cost of tickets, parking and concessions? It has nothing to do with the not so gradual watering down of the product over the past few seasons, or having too many of the bad teams in large markets?

Sure had me fooled.

I would think that the rising cost of DirecTV's Sunday Ticket, and better apps for the casual fan that is just watching to see how his fantasy team are doing, would have more to do with that than the Presidential Campaign Circus .....

Wouldn't this be more of an attendance issue than actual television ratings? I guess I've just never heard anybody say "i don't watch such and such sport on TV anymore because stadium prices are too high"...

Ratings are dropping because the old folks are tuning out, the 90s generation is too busy raising families and the younger kids are too busy on their phones.

Football is becoming too time consuming for what you get in return. Sad to say, but the majority of the time there are better things to watch and do with your limited time.

Sad but true.

Between outdoor activities and football, I get very little of anything actually accomplished on weekends from Sep - Dec.....which really extends through all of January because of the playoffs. Maybe there will come a day where I am able to balance my time better during that stretch, but for now I just accept it as a fact of life.

No no no, you have it all wrong.

-We want players to be able to hit one another. Not these sissy targeting penalties. Or if you lay a pinky on the QBs helmet...fifteen yards. Or 4th and 73, player touched his face mask, 5 yards automatic 1st down.

-We want players to celebrate. No TAUTING! You score, you dance, you spike, you make bow and arrow gestures. No penalties!

That is why the game sucks. Of course...it really is everything else you had to say too.
