Good story about how a family turns to be Saints fans. Welcome on board!

"We figured New Orleans was a lot more fun of a city to visit," Andy said. "I don't think anyone will ever accuse us of being bandwagon fans. I know they're not really at their highest peak right now. So we went ahead with New Orleans and figured why not.

"It seems like they have a pretty solid backing with their fanbase. That was one of the things we wanted to look for. We wanted to make sure there was a commitment from the city so we don't find ourselves in the same situation again."

He's obviously a Falcon troll. All the Seahawk fans are Denver fans this year.

The logic makes sense. It's basically how I became a Saints fan in the late 80's. The Cardinals hadn't moved to AZ yet. I wanted to pick a team with good defense, and I have a soft spot for underdogs. I didn't want to be one of the masses that were either Cowboys or Bears fans (at the time AZ was experiencing a population boom, and the majority were moving in from Illinois. The Cowboys were just as obnoxious then as they are now).

Also, since I was still pretty young the color scheme didn't hurt.

When the circumstances come around where you have to pick a new team to follow, you really don't want to jump on a bandwagon at its high point. Everyone hates those people.

"Really, the Patriots?"

I get it but they must be young. Rams and Saints used to be enemies. Don't think I could ever be a Rams fan.

The most interesting thing to me is that how St. Louis fans, that decided not to follow Rams in L.A. just didn't naturally move to the Chiefs.

I've always heard that despite being in the same state, Rams and Chief fans were just very, very different. It's fascinating to see that some fans would rather follow a team in a different state than follow the remaining in-state team.

To tell you the truth, if the Saints ever did break our hearts and leave and I was forced to find another team, I could see myself picking a Saints rival out of spite/hatred.
