It's great to see that our O-line has been giving Brees time to find his receivers

This is one of the things I'm most surprised at, given the way things looked in preseason.

we used 6 lineman , we chip the DE's , it's really a credit to Sean Payton, and DREW more than the OL

some of Miami's problem is the QB holding the ball too long

We saw in preseason what we have with no scheming

Really think we underestimated the impact of bringing Jahri Evans back. Add that with Andrus Peat actually looking at home on the left side, and some good game-planning with chip blocks, and suddenly your OL issues are minimized.

Oh and that Drew Brees guy is pretty good too.

I really think we underestimate the short passing scheme and Drews ability to get through his progressions/understanding defenses pre snap and knowing where to go. This helps the online.

Put Grayson there and I guarantee he's hit more. Not a jab at our online but let's not go all these guys are awesome. Drew is awesome but the line is doing a good job!

Man... the least pressure on a hall of fame QB and still only 1-3...

I'm still optimistic though. The defense is accruing a lot of good pieces. Having it all on the field at the same time however, is proving to be difficult.

When the O-line grades out well:

- Brees's pocket awareness and ability to get the ball out quickly is amazing!!

When the O-line is considered to not be playing well:

- Strief sucks
- Lelito sucks
- Peat is a bust
- Evans is done

Exactly! Our OLine has definitely been solid but a lot more is going into this stat. I think Brees and Payton prepared for a while on how they would adjust to the OLine. Brees gets the ball out incredibly fast and when he does hold on to it longer it seems to be when we have an extra lineman on or use chips. I would like to see a stat on how quickly Brees gets rid of the ball on average compared to others. As our OLine improves into next season along with our skilled positions continuing to develop I think we can expect some big things from this offense.

Definitely a pleasant surprise, I really was worried during preseason.

The pass protection has been a great surprise but I'm curious if teams have dropped more into coverage versus the average rate against us.

We haven't exactly run with authority (some is play calling but our team ypc is low) and in a couple of our games teams were forcing us to throw short and intermediate passes, thus eating up time.

The Chargers (till they blew their big toe off with self inflicted wounds) and the Falcons had control of the game and could afford for us to make completions and not blitz.

Why can't you just admit you are wrong and give them some credit? Did it ever occur to you that maybe we were trying different things in the preseason. Do you really think that other teams don't use schemes also. You are beyond negative on this subject.

I admit I was wrong about the OLine. I have said all year that we would have a top 10 OLine. In reality they are a top 5 unit.
