Electric. Had a bad drop later in the game but the dude has killer speed.

Ball drop killed a drive and hurt. However, he's a potential home run on every punt return. Personally, I think he should also be returning kicks. Frankly, he's being underutilized in the return game, which I just don't understand. Dude comes to play every game.

He's not really THAT short!

Just kidding, very happy to have him on the team.

Effort and energy are both top notch for this guy. He can be a very valuable matchup piece for Payton and valuable in the return game as well.

Why is Byrd back for the punts at times? That fair catch with defenders 10 yards away was puzzling.

Had a good game. I think his role will increase as the season goes on and he will ultimately be a bigger contributor than Coleman.

I have one thing to say, Marcus Murphy's days in NOLA are numbered. But he did have a costly drop on 3rd and 6 in the 3rd quarter .... it was an easy reception that he just dropped ...

No offense, but it's clear what we are doing in that situation and why. Byrd has been doing for a long time. If we are decided to play it safe, then he is back there to do one thing, fair catch it. If the ball has a chance of going into the endzone, then he may fake fair catch it. But under no circumstances will he run with the ball.

I know he is not a RB, but his skillset is similar to what we had with Sproles. He can be that matchup nightmare that can take a dump off and move 20 yards upfield. Payton should try to match him up against lbers as much as possible.

Bingo, we have a winner.

Will Sean Payton be able to put two and two together, however? My guess is a resounding no.

Yeah, but Tommy Lee replaced him immediately after.

No. That's not how this works. Byrd goes back when we have already decided to either fair catch or let it go in the endzone. He will never return the ball. He wasn't replaced by Lewis.
