Kudo's to B.W. Webb (1 Viewer)

Like someone mentioned in another thread, Coach Glenn has to be the positional coach of the year. When you have a great position coach, you get the most out of your players.

Agreed. Look what Vitt has gotten out of Stupar, Johnson out of Davison, and McMahon out of Lutz. Coaching them up all across the roster.

LOL. That's looking on the bright side. Our 1st round LB can't get on the field, so that means the LB coach must be doing a great job coaching up a journeyman. haha

We need to keep building that middle class up. BW Webb/Sterling Moore should def be 4th/5th CB's next year. With Breaux/PJ Williams and maybe a FA as your top 3. You couldn't tell how thin we are until Brian Dixon was put in the game. He's a 6th CB at best. Add Crawley and we'll be solid next year. Gotta retain some of those guys though. Depth in our secondary will be important under DA because of how many DB's he likes to keep on the field in sub packages.

Dline depth is important too because of how fast paced he wants guys playing. Rotation will be key.

Anthony was in on 5% of the defensive plays, so I owe you this one.

LombardiGras is a genius.

Never let it be said that I'm a welcher.

Would it not be true that coaching up a lesser pedigreed player is a bigger task than a first rounder? And it is pretty obvious that they are doing something specific with Anthony, so his playing time at the moment isn't some grand example of bad coaching.

I am now convinced that you are related to Vitt.

I'm not, but that would be awesome if I was.

:ezbill:

Look, Johnson and Vitt get killed around here for never developing anybody. Aaron Glenn is doing a pretty terrific job, and deserves credit for his work. It is even more impressive when you see what the Cleveland secondary has become without him.

But his success being praised takes away some of the support for the negative narrative concerning our three disliked coaches, especially when they are doing a good job bringing along their own young players.

hahaha is that the sarcasm font?

No.

This is.

That was legit. I just wanted it to stand out as it was owed. You were right about this past game.

I thought they'd use Anthony as a spy for Newton, but his lack of running attempts pretty much negated that gameplan, if it was in fact the way they were going.

Agree. The only good thing about all these injuries is we've been forced to find young, hungry, cheap CB's that can play ball. I believe we've found them.

Look out 2017. We'll be loaded at CB, for the first time since I don't remember when.

Webb was flat playing his *** off. You can accept a call here and there if the guy is playing hard on every play and making plays, breaking up passes. I'd much rather that over the guy who always gives a three yard cushion and gives up completions all the time . . . and then still gets penalties.

All things considered, Webb was solid. Nice job young man.

He's savvy in how he uses his arms. Refs aren't gonna call that every play.

Now if you are Browner and extending while grabbing jersey, they'll call it every play.

Webb had some big time pass break ups, this guy is really looking like a solid corner. Moore got fooled on the halfback pass which is why he was out of position for the big pass interference penalty. That is a forgivable mistake, especially because he intercepted Cam in the end zone.

I can't explain why they are playing so well. Maybe Aaron Glenn is a genuis secondary coach. Maybe Webb and Moore are great players that were available off the street for some strange reason. Either way, good job by the front office, the coaches, and those two players.
