For the draft addicts, this site is an hours long time killer. New for this year, they let users vote for the positions each team should target. So you can join with other fans and get the Saints' team needs halfway correct this time around.

They also have EDGE as a position of need, so pass rushers are clearly identifiable within the rankings.

Fanspeak's On the Clock NFL Mock Draft Simulator

They have the Saints currently picking eighth. Here's what I did with my initial attempt today...

1. Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan
2. Dawuane Smoot, EDGE, Illinois
3. Ethan Pocic, OL, LSU
4. C.J. Beathard, QB, Iowa
5. (no pick)
6. Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
7. Derek Rivers, EDGE, Youngstown State

With us picking 6th it's almost impossible to not be able to take Myles Garrett. Sometimes I just take someone else just to see what other drafts I can get. If I go Myles Garrett and Zach Cunningham every time, they start looking samey.

Also, one of the draft boards is nuts. Deshone Kizer as like the 55th overall player who sometimes slips to the 3rd round? And Zach Cunningham as an edge rusher?

Kizer might not pan out, but you'd figure he's universally thought of as a top 15 pick at least. And Cunningham is 100% a standup linebacker.

Edit: Oh. They've already updated it. We're picking 8th now.

One of these years we'll have no interest in the draft till February!

Never.

Because there's ALWAYS good prospects that come back a year, so there's always more players to look forward to in the next draft on top of any underclassman.

You're more than welcome to just ignore these threads, of course.

What you talking about? I'm a draft maniac! :hihi:

The people that run that site are pretty cool too. I contacted them once, to suggest they make it easier to upload/maintain custom boards. They responded right away (the owner did, in fact).

The problem I was facing was my custom board would randomly reset to a default board now and then, intermittently, due to some glitch. As such, I'd have to rearrange the board manually - over and over again.

They're great. Nothing but positive things to say about those guys.

Call me crazy, but I kinda like the quarterback crop this year. More I delve in, the more I find QBs that might have what it takes. Deshone Kizer, Brad Kaaya, Mitch Trubisky? Those guys I like. See good accuracy and strong arms. Mason Rudolph, Deshaun Watson, CJ Beathard, and Mitch Leidner are my fence guys. But one of them could become decent.

Could be the year we go after a QB with a 1st or 2nd round pick, depending on where we end up picking...

Edit: Forgot about Patrick Mahomes. Assuming all the underclassmen included declare...could make things interesting.

New Orleans has dropped to 11th overall in the draft with the Carolina win.

1.) Derek Barnett, Edge, Tennessee
2.) Jake Butt, Tight End, Michigan
3.) Ethan Pocic, C/OG, LSU
4.) Cooper Rush, Quarterback, Central Michigan
5.) No Pick
6.) Clint Van Horn, OT, Marshall
7.) Tanzel Smart, DT, Tulane

I went all defense. I figured we pick up a guard or tackle in FA, and we always have enough udfa RB to find someone to tote the rock.

I'm serious about getting a pass rush. :ezbill:

Sign Jamie Collins in free agency and I'm good.

That's quite a pass rushing draft! :)

The problem is we'll be picking around 20. Barnett (and Allen both) likely gone by then.

We have a soft schedule remaining, and people are starting to get healthy. Rankins comes back today, Breaux soon. We won't be picking 10th.
