S.C. man facing murder charges likely linked to chilling Amazon reviews

Feel good story of the day...

The same month that Todd Kohlhepp acquired 95 secluded acres near Woodruff in May 2014, an Amazon user named "me" with a wish list linked to "Todd Kohlhepp" began to leave chilling reviews for products the user said he had purchased.

The reviews have caught the attention of Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office investigators who are looking into Kohlhepp’s online interactions as part of their investigation into the man Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright has said is likely a serial killer and has been linked to as many as seven deaths.

BTW, why isn't he cuffed?

Probably going to end being a serial killer case. But this all broke last week when deputies were walking around his property and found a missing woman chained up inside a metal shipping container. She was originally missing with her boyfriend that they suspect was murdered by this guy.

And apparently he was able to get a South Carolina real estate license after doing time for a kidnapping and sexual assault charge. Sure, real estate seems like a good move - get to go in people's houses. Yikes.

Yeah, not that I want people's lives ruined after doing some time.. but.. no one bothered to check his criminal background when he applied to be a realtor or when he wanted to buy 40+ acres of land? Was he well past his parole? I haven't looked up into the whole story, but it's nuts.

I will say this, if I see creepy Amazon reviews, I'd consider reporting them now.

In one review about a padlock, the Amazon user wrote, “solid locks..*have 5 on a shipping container.. wont stop them.. but sure will slow them down til they are too old to care. (sic)”

On a review of a knife posted on Sept. 13, 2014, he said, “havnet (sic) stabbed anyone yet...... yet.... but I am keeping the dream alive and when I do, it will be with a quality tool like this...”

For a shovel with a folding handle, the user posted a review suggesting, “keep in car for when you have to hide the bodies and you left the full size shovel at home.... does not come with a midget, which would have been nice.”
Amazon reviews are all fun and games until someone is serious...

i'd always assumed "cut-throat business" was a euphemism:idunno:

That is shocking that Amazon did not review & delete those posts. Whenever I submit a review, it seems that they always hold it for review & then submit it.

I read that he was also allowed to get a pilots license???!!!

At least the big fat sociopath admitted to killing 7 people & solved a case from 2003.

What a pathetic loser.
