Diabolical, but brilliant ST coaching N/S (1 Viewer)

The league needs to crack down on this stuff in the off-season and start enforcing the "palpably unfair act" portion of the rule book. These blatant violations go against the spirit of the rules.

You shouldn't be able to intentionally cheat to gain a tactical advantage.

The Competition Committee should be quite busy this offseason.

unsportsmanlike conduct 15 yards or half the distance to the goal per offense. First simultaneous holding play = penalties and major yardage.

For the geniuses in NFL corporate who are puzzling until their puzzlers are sore as to why the ratings are in a freefall, I give you exhibit Q.

This is a watershed season for teams taking a little too much liberty with the rulebook. As someone mentioned, plays considered "palpably unfair acts" need to be expanded.

And every week, there's a fresh example of something this stupid taking place.

The NFL rulebook is turning into a giant joke. Nothing about that play should be applauded. It's the highlight of how bad it has gotten that teams have to resort to finding loopholes that are based around committing multiple penalties to end a game.

Thanks, Goodell. Keep protecting your broken shield.

The most amusing part of this play is that it took a few seconds for the referees to call the multiple obvious holding penalties.

This type of thing is getting completely out of hand. The head office needs to come down HARD on this and tell ALL teams that the next time this happens.

Rule 12, Section 2, Article 3:

PALPABLY UNFAIR ACT (PLAYER)

Article 3

A player or substitute shall not interfere with play by any act which is palpably unfair.

Penalty: For a palpably unfair act: Offender may be disqualified. The Referee, after consulting his crew, enforces any such distance penalty as they consider equitable and irrespective of any other specified code penalty. The Referee could award a score. See 15-1-6.

Yep, and time added on.

I agree, for each penalty 15 seconds added on and 15 yds should do it. There is nothing brilliant about it, it is unsportsmanlike without a doubt and pathetic to boot. Shameful even, just like when SF held our receievers a couple weeks ago to run out the clock before half time to make us kick a Fg.

Line up and beat your opponent how you should. Coaches should be embarrassed with such
Shenannigans.

The NFL is more of a joke every week, and allowing these guys to essentially cheat and get away with it sends a bad message.

LOL ya'll are some crybabies....... it was a good strategy and if it was us using it, you would defend it to no end. :)
