“We talked about what we needed to do to win today. We didn’t know if the muscle hamster was going to play. We did our job.” From this article.

Ok....who is the "muscle hamster"?

Doug Martin's nick name is muscle hamster but I don't think he likes it very much, lol!

Friend who stuck Doug Martin with 'Muscle Hamster' label: Too late - Tampa Bay Buccaneers Blog- ESPN

"He hated it. He was like, 'OK, man, why can't I be like a pit bull or anything cool like that?' And I'm like, 'Dude, you're short. Hamsters are cool. There's nothing wrong with hamsters. Why do you hate hamsters?' You don't choose a nickname. If your buddies give you a nickname and it sucks and you don't like it, it just sticks with you. He really disliked it. But we just kept it rolling. We didn't understand how big it was until there was a giant hamster wearing a [No.] 22 [jersey] at our games. No joke."

Awesome, I did not know that. Great article Jack T., that's how nicknames work. Sometimes they choose you and just fit, you rarely get to pick your own nickname. It just happens.

Thank you guys. Have a great Christmas!

Haha, it appears he REALLY doesn't like it. That's a sure fire reason it will stick forever. :hihi:

Yeah, I wanted to be known as T-bone but my co-workers called me Koko instead.
