This is a statement that will get under the skin of many on this board due to the homerism, which I get. But it has to be getting difficult even for LSU fans to claim LF as better than Cook. Dalvin is a more explosive runner, a better pass catcher out of the backfield, and has shown better vision between the tackles.

Plus one guy is playing his heart out in the bowl game for his school, the other is sitting out to stay healthy. I just think it's gotta be almost a unanimous opinion at this point amongst scouts. Both are great prospects, but Cook is better. I love comparisons, Cook would be Jamaal Charles, to Leonard's Darren McFadden.

Sure, whatever. But you gotta back up this talk with something more than your opinion.

Unanimous among scouts? Have some, I don't know, tweets at the least? And you're going to beat this Darren McFadden thing to death, I can tell.

I agree, the dude is a special talent. Fournette could strive in a place like Seattle.

Nothing to do with LSU, I just think Fournette is better. I've seen a lot of both of their games. Cook is great. But I'd still take Fournette. I've seen Fournette have much better games than Cook is having tonight. Not trying to take anything away from Cook. It's just obvious to me. Fournette is just as explosive with way more power. Cook's only advantage is in the passing game.

I agree that Cook will be a better prospect if put into the right system. Same goes for Fournette. For example I think Cook would be better in the Saints' offense than Fournette would be. But like someone mentioned earlier in this thread, Fournette would be better in Seattle's offense.

They are both very good prospects and they both can have (potentially) HOF careers, if put in the right system. If we were to pull the trigger on either one, I'd be equally excited.

Don't forget that LF7 is great in the passing game. His skill set, in that department, was never put on display to its potential

I completely disagree. Cook has been extremely underwhelming in this game. Does he have speed? Yes. Is that going to translate the same way during an NFL game? No. I know it's just one game, but he's a late second to third round pick in my book. He doesn't break tackles well, his vision and agility to me are a lot less than advertised, and I don't think his releases in pass pro are very good either. I think Cook has a lot of potential to have 1-2 great seasons and not much else, while I think Fournette will have a solid career even if it's not spectacular. I'd say think of it as Reggie Bush vs. Ricky Williams. I'd much rather have Ricky than Bush, minus the off the field issues.

You can't use anything about LSU's offense to draw a conclusion about Founette's ability in the passing game. Like Les Miles had a plan beyond the toss dive, toss dive, throw it deep?

But I saw plenty of him in blitz pickup doing the dirty work. Sticking his head in there and picking up rushers.

Fournette is the total package. Dalvin Cook is awesome in his own right. The Saints would be a better team with either of them. But where Cook is concerned, I like a lot of other players just as much or more than Cook.

But I'm trying not to insult you, but the Darren McFadden thing is absurd to the point where I suspect you're trolling us.

Darren McFadden lowered his shoulders, he goes sideways or backwards. He had almost zero lower body strength.

Fournette lowers his shoulders and people make gifs where graves pop up where defenders used to be. Plus, McFadden couldn't hold on to a football to save his life.

A much better comparison is Ricky Williams vs Edgerrin James. Both are studs...it's ultimately going to depend on the system they go to. I'd be happy with either...but I'm partial to Cook because of what he brings to the passing game.

I think Guice with LSU is better than them all

I agree with this. But Fournette is bigger, faster and more powerful than Cook or Guice. But with all three it's like arguing over which $400 bottle of wine is better....

Guice runs like his Battle Royal collar is about to explode. Love that about him. Less that he trucks people and more that he refuses to be tackled.

The Darren McFadden thing should be beaten to death. McFadden probably had slightly faster straight line speed, LF is about 10 pounds heavier, but otherwise they're almost clones..

I'm an Arkansas fan, so the fact that DMAC wasn't an all world RB is not something I'm happy about.. I just feel like I'm watching the same story unfold with LF.
