What do you guys think of pursuing Jamie Collins. I was hoping the Saints were targeting him out of Southern Miss, but NE snagged him. The fact that NE traded him to Cleveland mid-season makes me think he is asking too much for a LB.

Spotrac estimates his free agent value at around 10 mill per year. I think that's probably a bit high which is what NE probably thought too.

I think he is expecting more than 10 mill per year which is probably a bit high. He probably grew up a Saints fan being from southern MS, but from what I have read, he's looking for a big payday. Thoughts?

We were very interested in getting him in the second round ...that last year Goodell took away our second round pick.

He was very raw but had the combine stats that were appealing for a second rounder. So it might be a good fit from many aspects. I hope we pursue him if he passes on Cleveland.

One problem that may occur is that he liked to freelance too much in New England. Not sure if that would fly here. Talent wise he is awesome.

Could be the impact player we need on D. Good against the run and pass. Problem, he want to get paid Big. We finally got some money but with our recent free agent pickups, proceed with great caution.

I'm a USM fan...so yeah. But I'm also a big believer in Belicheat. If he gets rid of you...it's something that I at least consider.

Just noway I'm paying a LB 10+ million a year given the other things we need.

I'd rather add several more Robinson type talents to ensure depth + draft a guy to add in the mix.

I would agree with you in most situations but with Collins he is still performing at a high level with the Browns. Also since he has left the pats there d has been off.

No way at 10+ million a year for a linebacker! Come on, spread the wealth!

I like Collins a lot, I think he will play base SAM with us, moving all around in subpackages.

Besides him as a player, I will consider also who else can we sign with the same amount of money.

If we can use the same money to get veterans right guard and right tackle, who play above average and are around 25 years old, I would go that way.

If we can sign a poroven cover corner like Joe Haden, I will prefer him.

I think this draft is showing to be deep in pass rushers, so my priority will be to go there at the first round.

Finally, we have to put some money on the savings account for Breaux, Vacarro and the young receivers.

I will be very happy with Collins as our new defensive "joker" but I will take him at that price only if Allen thinks he can build the defense around him.

if Browns can't agree to a contract w/ Collins they will just slap the franchise tag on him

I remember seeing that he was looking for Von Miller money from NE which was supposedly why he was traded. That we can't do no matter how good he is.

Word is he doesn't love football and isn't passionate. He and Chandler Jones made comments about preferring to play madden or video games during downtime I believe. Next thing u know one is in AZ the other Cleveland

I remember reading NE offered him around 11.5 a year and he turned that down, he was shipped to The brown hole shortly afterward....

No way in hell hes worth anything close to that. I'd prefer to go after j. Sheard off NE for maybe half of what he's gonna get and he can take Krugers spot st DE.
