....we were set free in glorious fashion.

Ambush. Crunk. Tracy Porter. 31-17. Pigs flew.

WHO DAT!

Wow. Seeing the Falcons meltdown shows just how fortunate we are. Imagine if Ambush had not worked. Payton would have been run out of town.

We haven't even been to an NFC title game since that season............which shows the absolute importance of winning when you actually get to a SB. Atlanta losing the SB in the '98 season to the Broncos was kinda just whatever.....because not only were they not better than the Broncos, they probably weren't even better than the Vikings team they somehow beat to get there. But a 25 point lead in a SB with only a quarter and a half to play......regardless of whether you're truly better than that team or not.....should be insurmountable at the NFL level.

...the Saints did not choke away the biggest lead in Super Bowl history."
...the Saints did not have the most amazing choke in pro sports history."

This is a fun game.

My birthday is today, being in Miami that night watching the Saints win has been the best birthday gift ever. Nothing can top that!

I'm sure you saw this stat because it was shown a few different times........but the Saints and 2 other teams previously had the record for biggest comeback win (10 point deficit) in SB history..........until this game, obviously.

I think the other team was the Redskins. I think Denver was winning 10-0 and ended up getting blown out 55-10 something stupid :hihi:

That one, and unless I misread the roman numerals, I think the Pats were the 3rd one.....did they trail Seattle by 10 in that SB 2 years ago?

Yep. Seattle led N.E. 24-14 at one point. Losing it made them the third team to go down double digits and then lose. First was Denver (eventually lost 42-10), second was Indy (eventually lost to us, 31-17).

Atlanta losing it Sunday night made them the fourth team in that category. Interestingly, I didn't watch two of those due to being just "meh" about the matchup (SB 49 and SB 51). Well, alright, I peeked in a room in my in-laws' house where the TV was left on once I saw the Failclowns start to slip away. Too bad it was the Cheatriots who had to do the honors, but it's nice to be "forever champs" compared to our division rivals :hihi:

Under the circumstances, I am more than content being tied for the second-biggest comeback in SB history.
