Chris Mortensen: Wrapping up now...saw somebody complain that no Saints questions were answered, but I didn't see any....anyway, I like the Saints to win the division. Their offense is as good as any in the NFC and one of the best. Their defense would still concern me. Obviously, Drew Brees is an MVP candidate, Sean Payton coach of the year, Colston rookie of the year. Could be a banner finish.

Btw I definitely asked about 3 questions but he redeems himself by addressing most of them here.

Isn't it just amazing? This season has been one where the planets and stars are all aligned.

Possible playoffs (who am I kidding - Superbowl)
Possible ROY - Colston (Bush isn't to shabby either)
Possible MVP - Brees
Possible COY - Payton

Who woulda thunk it? It's one thing that I thought we'd have a real good season, but for all the individual accolades that could be coming our way too. THAT, I didn't even entertain.

Before the season he picks us to go 2-14 and now he's saying we will win the division. Guess we are moving up.

He was wrong the first time and wrong a lot more than he is right so I wouldn't look at his statements as a good thing.

Good point! We all just love to hear and read good things about our team and that is just natural. We hate it when they bash us and love it or like to say "I told you so!" when it's good.

The point is, none of these guys really know anything! They certainly don't know our team as well as ANY of us who follow this team as if life itself depended on it, therefore, our discussions here are the real deal when it comes to analysing the team and it's chances and the actaul state and condition of the team.

The pundits are just bobble-head talking points that just babble on and on and read off of teleprompters whatever the writers write and when the discussions turn to their "Opinioins" they just go with the flow, talk about the sweethearts of the League because it's the safe thing to do and never say anything (especially about our SAINTS) that's important or relevant or that is new or clever or insightful.

That's why I come here to read all of your thoughts and to keep up on the latest news concerning the SAINTS! This site offers the combined brain power and resources of all of the members (which is considerable). No sports network that has to cover the entire League as well as all of the other sports around the country could ever equal the strength of all of us who are so focused on this one team that if DeJuan Groce hiccups we all discuss how that may effect Rob Pettiti's state of mind!

!!!!!!!!!!!! GEAUX SAINTS GEAUX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is true for me too. I must admit I enjoy those two and I also ( God help me) love Terry Bradshaw! Maybe it's just because I'm a homer and love all things from and regarding Louisiana (especially sports figures and especially ones who love my SAINTS and are wearing FOUR SUPERBOWL RINGS!!!!!!)

So, guilty as charged, as well!

Maybe they should make something depend on it. Wouldn't it be interesting if ESPN made salaries or a nice fat bonus based on the writers ability to correctly predict the outcome of games.

Wonder if that would change the rankings and predictions much...

Don't forget here. This team tanks and they will be on it like white on rice. I'm happy with the wins. The respect is nothing without it coming from within. I don't need their adoration and blathering spit swap sessions. just wins

Berman isn't a talking head. He doesn't try and act like he knows everything and has fun with the NFL. Most of the other guys are trying to be breaking news reporters using rumors and their own false imaginations. It isn't even fair to put Berman in the same sentence as those other guys. I can listen to Jaws because he knows a lot but at the same time he doesn't act like he is never wrong.

Chris Mortenson, John Clayton and Salisbury are horrible. After that their are a bunch idiots that are just a step down from stupider.

what he said

Jaws is the best. He's probably one of the few analysts that actually sits down and breaks down film on teams. He doesn't just throw out opinions like the other guys do, he bases his opinion on what the tape shows. Merrill Hodge isn't too bad either.

Chris Mortenson's Chat 11/29

Chris Mortenson ended his chat today with the following statement...
