I like this mock draft (1 Viewer)

I'm not necessarily high on Tim Williams that early (strictly for off field reasons), but trading back 2 spots with Arizona is the best decision if Foster and Lattimore are both off the board. They need a QB, and will likely need to jump Cleveland to get one and we can get an extra solid pick and probably get the same player we want 2 spots later.

Agree on both points. Tim Williams is being compared to Randy Gregory. That's a helluva risk to take for a first round pick.

We knew Randy Gregory wasn't tenable when we brought him in and...I can't even remember, but he said something weird or sort of stupid. Was a special kind of dumb.

If Williams is just a weed head...he's not the only one in the league. But we know of the ones who don't seem to be able to refrain or smoke around the drug testing. I mean...it's not like they don't tell everyone when every test is, right? When it comes to raw speed off the edge? Tim Williams might be faster off the edge than even Myles Garrett.

Not just weed. Alcohol abuse. Plus the gun charge.

edit - he's falling

— Oklahoma's Dede Westbrook and Alabama's Tim Williams are two players with substantial background and character questions to answer at the Combine. They both passed on the Senior Bowl with injuries. Westbook's issues are well documented, but Williams' maybe not as much. I've been told alcohol abuse in the offseason leads the character concerns for Williams. His interview might determine whether he's a mid-to-late first-rounder or fighting for a Day 2 draft choice.

Lot of people thought the same about Gregory concerning off the field issues, then things continued to get worse. Very talented edge rusher just like Gregory, but I'll pass in the first round (maybe even second round).

Love the trade back, don't like the pick though. Hard to believe in today's NFL the top pass rushers last until #28.

Tim Williams may be a beast of a pass rusher, but too risky for our #1 especially when there are many other very good ones out there

I swear last night after reading the value of the 11th pick I started looking at teams that needed a QB. To my surprise 0 teams after us really needed a QB except Browns/Cardinals.

If the Browns take Garrett 1st they'll be looking to nab a QB with their 12th pick. Could be a perfect position for Deshaun Watson and as recent as 2 weeks ago SP said something along the lines of "I'd like to think that he has what we are looking for" Early signs of creating a market.

There is a good chance the 49ers take Trubisky unless they can pull of a QB in FA becasue with the Browns likely to take Garrett that leaves the 49ers with basically the 1st pick in the draft to nab the QB they want. If I were them I'd be scouting him heavily and then attempting to determine whether i should turn my attention to QB in FA or use that as a resource to build up other spots knowing I have the Luxury of having Trubisky in my sight.

I kind of like the pick and the move made to cushion the prospect of taking a risky prospect by garnering extra picks. AZ may have to come off a bit more traditionally and this should work in our favor. Where do they have depth at on that team....could also acquire a player from them. I'm all for Tim Williams as a rush specialist........just not without an extra pick or two.

Love the trade back, not sure on Tim Williams. He will have to interview extremely well for SP to draft him. And after Junior and all the gates he's been through, it's hard for me to imagine SP taking the risk without much due diligence.

I agree we need a rush specialist, a speed guy. But we might already have that with Kikaha or even Gwacham. I'd like to see us take a 3 down DE or a 2 down DE early. Someone like Taco or Barnett who can handle the run AND push the pocket. In today's league, offenses pass a lot on early downs.

Theres hope, SP mentions we bring guys in that we have questions on. In 2013 we brought in KV and then subsequently drafted him so there's time for Williams to make an impression. Even more recent is the case of Fairly.
