PS4 vs. XBone (2 Viewers)

"You can just write to the original set of [Xbox One] requirements that we have today, and then we'll do the work to make sure that it actually runs better. But [developers] don't have to do any custom work for Scorpio,” Choudhry told Gamasutra. “We're just inviting people to come in and take advantage of it. In terms of requirements if they do decide to take advantage of it, we want that content to run, at minimum the same as but ideally better than it does on the original Xbox One.“

So who is buying the $500 Xbox x?

Aside from Crackdown 3, there wasn't much compelling from the MS conference yesterday as far as exclusives were concerned for me. I'll stick to my OG launch xbox 1.

Price point is too high and it has a stupid and potentially confusing name. I doubt it succeeds for them. And the idea of iterative consoles inside the same generation is just a goofy cash grab. The video game industry is terrible.

I'll be buying one. Mostly for 4K blu-ray and I'm a huge Forza fan. 4K OLED HDR Forza with a Fanatec wheel setup sounds like fun for the holidays. Crackdown 3 is also something I'm looking forward to as well. I loved the original.

$100 for 4K BR playback and a significant bump in computing doesn't really bother me much. Hopefully MS will land more exclusives, but honestly I don't think $500 is that expensive :idunno:

I'll just move the OG XBone to another room.

BoneX is a great name for a M$ console

and i don't think the .5 versions of consoles will stop....tech changes quickly...

i don't mind a mid cycle release as long as it doesn't mess with the library of future games..

that doesn't seem like a fair comparison considering that M$ is getting their parts for much cheaper than retail and some of the parts are custom made for the BoneX

you could probably build a car from buying parts at AutoZone but it would cost you more than it costs Ford

Exactly. But there's a lot of people out there saying the xbonex is a rip-off because they can build a PC that's just as good - if not better - for the same price. You're not gonna get parts cheaper than Microsoft.

This argument went out the window a good while ago when the PS3 and Xbox 360 were $200. Now, with a PS4 or Xbone at $250, and the new Xbox at $500, we've never seen that sort of value for performance.

It's really a GREAT time to be a gamer. I can play the best Zelda ever on the toilet and then head back to the living room to fight hyper-photo-realistic robot dinosaurs...all for less than the build out of a mid range PC. My young cousin called me the other day for advice on upgrading his PC to play GTA on high graphics settings. I told him to buy a console. Spending $300+ on a graphics card alone is hard to justify.

I have a ps4 pro and a day one xbone. I actually like the xbone interface a lot better (probably just because i've been using it for so long). I have a hi def tv. however, i'm still not sold on getting the XBox X just because i can't really see any of the developers building games that are significantly better for the other xboxx. Anyone have any strong feelings on why it might be a must get?

I have the same (a pro and a day one) and I like the Sony interface way better than the Bone interface. The tiles are terrible. (I don't know why they messed with the 360 interface, which was better than both).

I see no reason to get the bonex.

Interesting. i can only imagine i'm just so used to the tiles. I tend to agree with you. If my bone died, then i'd get it, but i just don't see the point. I figure i'll play everything other than the 2 xbox exclusives on the pro. i really don't like that we seem to know be getting iphone S-like updates to these systems now though.
