Just passing this on, figured it may interest some:

This morning on NFL Radio, someone from Mississippi called in with a couple of Saints questions (one was rhetorical - just how much does this defense miss Roman Harper), and finished by telling Cross he wasn't allowed back in the Superdome this season (Cross called both the Balt and Cinc games for CBS TV). Cross laughed and said Sean Payton would probably agree with that. Both Cross and Bob Papa agreed that the Saints sorely miss Harper, he wasn't playing like a rookie, and that they expected teams to continue to test the Saints deep. Then Cross went on to say that he loved the attitude of this team has right now, and thinks they can go a long way this year. Said no one wants to deal with the offense right now. He finished by saying how great everyone in New Orleans was to him during his two trips down -- talked about how everyone he met was extremely friendly, and he was amazed how all anyone wanted to talk about was Saints football.

I never really liked Cross. When we used to play SF in years past, he was always pulling for the niners. You could tell the way he talked, he was a niner fan to the end. I can't believe he changed his attitude about the Saints, but I'm glad he did.

I thought Cross played for the 49ers? Wouldn't he root for the team he used to play for? :shrugs:

You know, I really, really feel that as long as our offense can control the ball and stay even/win the turnover battle, this team cant be beat! Even against the best defenses, we have been able to score and our Defense for the most part has been a bend but dont break type of d. Even in the Pittsburgh game, which i think was the worst game for the defense we were in that game spite the excess of turnovers.

I know it is cliche` with the turnovers, but we have yet to lose a game this season where we were just totally owned and couldnt move or stop a team.

According to rules, commentators aren't supposed to show any favoritism to any team, no matter who.

I wonder what the consiquences are ....because Moose and Dick should be fined or whatever for rooting on the falcons last Sunday.....everytime the falcons would mount a drive, they would get all excited...oh yea and Goose too

While all sports broadcasters should maintain impartiality (excluding home town radio guys...lol) I don't believe there has ever been a "written" rule as far as guys being "homers".

Now, if you could....say....provide a link to such policies.....then you would change my mind.

No one complains when Terry Bradshaw roots for "his" Saints.

Probably still trying to wipe the egg from his face after the conspiracy theory innuendo he espoused

Randy could convert and I'd still have a hard time liking him. I'm sure he is probably a good enough person but as a broadcaster in some of the losses (and some wins) he has had me on the brink of breaking the TV. Too many times to count wher I simply muted the thing because of his commentary
