John Fourcade (1 Viewer)

I know some of you guys remamber John Fourcade. I will never forget the day we went into Buffalo and spoiled their playoff hopes in a snow storm. He will be in the Saints hall of fame display this Sunday. If any of you get a chance, check him out. Here's a link to the story.

Thanks for the link!

New Orleans area native John Fourcade, who played quarterback for the New Orleans Saints from 1987-1990, will appear at the Saints Hall of Fame Superdome display at the Saints game against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday, December 3. Located at Gate C on the Club level, the display is free and open to the public.

Fourcade will be available for autographs and pictures from 10 AM-11:40 AM. The Saints Hall of Fame will be giving away discount passes to visit the Kenner shrine.

I wish I was going to be at the game so I could check that out....

He was fun to watch and that game up in Buffalo really stands out.

Me too...I was a young Saint fan when Fo'cade started playing for us and I just loved him. Man, those were the days. I loved the Saints of the late 80's, early 90's.

If you don't view it as a homer, Fourcade was a joke. I was embarrassed for him when he started the opener against SF on Monday night. That was the year Herbert was holding out. Fourcade was so lost and panicky out there that he forgot all the plays and was adlibbing. It was horrible!

Yep, FW, those first 4 games that year were simply horrible from a QB position. And that forced us to trade for Steve Walsh, which wasn't much better...

He wasn't the greatest qb in the land, but that game will always stick in my mind. I guess because it was in the snow, and I rarely see it in our great state of Louisiana. :_rofl:

"Put in Fourcade!!!!" I've been yelling that at Saints games for years, whenever our QB (e.g., Everett, Wilson, Hobert, Shuler, Brooks) is struggling. It's the epitomy of how the backup QB is the most popular guy in town--that is, until he actually plays (with the exception of Jake Delhomme, of course).

He wasn't that good of a qb. I saw him play in the indoor football league here in Alexandria. Talk about can't let go of the past. He has a lot of personal issues he has to deal with. Like deflating his ego some.

Forcade is known here in South Lafourche area for when he was in High School. I wasn't born yet but my mom would tell me the story about the playoff game or it might have been the championship game and it was Bobby Hebert for South Lafouche against Fourcade for Shaw. The legend is that Forcade was running with the ball and ended up going out of bounds onto the track where people were standing because it was standing room and only. Fourcade then decided to flip off the crowd. Legend has it that that ignited the South Lafouche team which went on to win the state championship with Bobby Hebert throwing the winning TD pass.

Fourcade was most recently the coach of a Shreveport-Bossier arena team but stepped down earlier in the year for health reasons. Not sure of the nature or severity.
