Check out the new Morehouse Parish Sheriff Dept cars (1 Viewer)

Yeah, I made my opinion of Ball known a few days ago in the Radar Detector thread.

It currently holds my title for worst speed trap on 165 between Monroe and Alexandria. And that's saying something.

Hmmm. When I used to go back and forth from home (Monroe) to school (Pineville) on 165, Olla always seemed to be the worst speedtrap. Of course, that's also the only place on 165 where I've gotten a ticket. :ezbill: So that might have something to do with my opinion.

Nice new ride for Morehouse Parish's finest. Guess I'll have to watch out for the Chargers next time I pass through 'Strop City.

Money. Small towns on 167 and 165 took a page from Ball and Dry Prong on raising municipal funds.

The speed traps got to be so bad and so many people complained that Dry Prong made the front page of the Alexandria Town Talk. They were even stopping people at the Grant High School speed zone, two miles south of their town limits.

Ugh, I hate that little nook in the trees in Dry Prong that you can't see the cop car backed into when your going Northbound on 167 coming into the town. I had to remind myself of it every time I was heading back to college from my mom's house in Pineville.

From the radar detector thread. I have Ball, Georgetown, and Olla 1-2-3 on my list.

I went to high school in Olla. You're absolutely right though, that place is pretty much nothing but a speed trap now. I know the exact spot you're talking about too. The sad thing to me is that, at least in my humble opinion, Olla is only the 3rd worst speed trap on the stretch of Hwy 165 between Monroe and Alexandria. Georgetown has Olla edged out and Ball has to be the worst. Ball has the same 65-to-45-in-less-than-a-half-mile thing that Olla has. Georgetown used to hold the title about 7 or 8 years ago. At one point about that time frame, they actually extended the "city" limits of Georgetown out 7 miles into the country so that the podunk town cops had more jurisdiction in which to write speeding tickets. There must have been some action against it however, as it didn't last very long.

The TIMED program should've included an overpass/bypass for every city between Ruston and Alexandria.

I'll drink to that. I almost forgot about Jonesboro and Hodge. If there were one town (okay, it's technically two, but I consider them one) that I could bypass on that drive, it would be Jonesboro-Hodge. I see so many people pulled over when coming into Jonesboro (Northbound) and on the backside of Hodge, it's just ridiculous.

After reading the entire article, apparantly a V6 Impala has more horsepower and torque than a V8 Crown Victoria. That's pretty sad.

What's the problem with Fords? When we bought our minivan in 2002, we also looked at SUV's. I remember our Odyssey was rated for more HP than a V8 Expedition.

Pathetic.

no way i got a 06 vic my partner has the impala ..
the impala is horrible. i smoke it.
1st gear takes me too 60 2nd to 90 3rd to 120
ive had it over 150 chasing a sport bike down the hwy and he gave it up when he realized he couldnt shake me.. the new vics kick it.. but i cant wait for the charges we just ordered a fleet of them...

Needs a Saleen wing. That weird luggage-rack kinda-spoiler thingy is just lame.
