Zach Strief’s first Game (1 Viewer)

Okay, great. Thanks for the clarification.

If Strief is the new pbp thought he might warm up with the pre-season games.

Otherwise, why is there a thread about his "first game". This isn't a first game as pbp.

Strief is doing play by play on the radio. This is his first game.

He's done this TV color commentary role before.

It's not new. Not his first game at this.

Dude you have Strief and Stinchcomb mixed up. Strief was a player last year. Stinchcomb has been doing preseason TV. Strief just retired. This is his first game not being a member of the New Orleans Saints football team.

I think Strief has a solid future in broadcasting. But he really is better suited to be a color analyst rather than the play-by-,play guy. The real question is whether he would have been considered as a serious candidate to do the play-by-play for any other NFL team or a major college team.

Give him time--it's preseason for everyone else. But the difference between Strief and Joel Myers is striking. If it doesn't work out--and it may be that Strief is wearing the wrong hat--blame WWL.

Surprise, surprise. A former player with zero pbp experience isn’t good. Guys like Myers are professinals. Zach is a novice wannabe at best. Typical WWL gaffe. They are the worst at hiring on air talent. Zach as a color analyst would have made too much sense, but it's way beyond WWL’s ability to do something right.

Hopefully it’s not too late to correct this. Put Myers, Kelly or Hoss behind the pbp mic and let Zach sit in as a third voice to do analysis.

Ah, got it. Yes, been awhile and I definitely confused them in this role.

Sorry. Will be interesting to see the transition to pbp because tonite this is color commentary, what Deuce does on the radio.

Ive been a "turn down the sound of your TV and turn up saints radio" guy for at least a decade. Man o man do I miss jim. I'm sure zach will get better but jim truly is irreplaceable.

You still don’t get it. Strief is doing play by play tonight on the radio with Deuce. That’s Jon Stinchcomb on TV. A totally different person than Zach Strief.

Strief and Deuce are together on WWL Radio. Stinchcomb is with JM on the television broadcast on FOX8.

In the almost first hour of his new career I think the last 30 mins have improved over his first 30 mins

Hey if Tommy Myers can do pbp on TV why can’t Jon Streifcomb do it on radio? ;)

Lol, now I get it. I'm listening to the TV stream on a laptop on the other side of the office while working on workstation, so only half paying attention.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Got it now. I had the opposite thing going confusing the broadcast audio with the Radio.

My apologies.
