It's way early, but... (Hill or Savage) (1 Viewer)

Savage or Hill?

Fun experiences at the QB position doesn’t do anything good for a team. It’s just fun to talk about

Neither does repeated checkdown passes thrown behind receivers.

If the Saints are going to lose with their backup, I’d rather have the guy that will at least make it entertaining.

I voted Hill, but only because, no-tacoes. Way, way too early.

I say it is an even split.
Savage played way too safe. here were a lot of check down passes and he seems to try to throw too perfect of a ball and it was inaccurate.
Hill started off slow but settled in. He is a different type of QB and it seems SP design an offense around his qualities.

The thought of Sean Payton designing an offense around Taysom Hill is intriguing to say the least.

Oh I agree, but it’s a fact. Hill won’t be the number 2, but it’s fun to talk about. He’s way more valuable on Special Teams then he is to us in any capacity as a QB.

I wasn’t saying Savage is great, but I think our team will be good enough where a game manager type QB can win a game or two if needed.

So our whole current team is Drew Brees or nothing?

Might be the most false post on the site

Oh, I don’t know.

Has the team come to that conclusion after one preseason game? Plenty of guys get cut who have good training camps.

I’m pretty sure it’s known within the building that he won’t be the number 2 unless he just grows a ton in a few weeks at that position.

My comment about him being the number 2 has more to do with what Drew likes behind him as anything. Not to mention that there’s just too many things he needs to improve on to be a number 2 yet.

But we don’t know this as truth yet?

You’re absolutely right brother, we don’t. He certainly could do some type of miraculous growth at the position that not many would expect and grab that number 2 spot.

Again, I’m not implying that he sucks. Does he have a long way to go to be a competent NFL QB, well, of course. That opinion comes from watching him a ton at BYU, and now, however; playing with Drew can help that of course.

I also firmly believe that he is far more valuable at special teams where he is one of our top players and a number 2 QB will not be playing special teams outside of a holder position.
