Since it’s now being reported by multiple places that the Cardinals are open to trading Patrick Peterson I’m going to make a poll asking the pulse of the board, if we could make it happen, say for our 2nd next year and another piece, 2020 pick or a player, would you pull the trigger? Sorry for the long sentence lol. I know multiple threads on this just want a poll to see where we all stand.

I vote yes. Who cares if we don’t pick until Day 3 next year, we won’t really need to replace anyone important until 2020.

As long as Loomis can work the cap magic and we don't have to overpay in assets to get him, absolutely he'd be an upgrade to the secondary and another veteran voice back there too. Coleman is the only vet we've got back there and his snaps are limited. At least he seems to always be in the defensive huddles on the sidelines even when his number isn't being called to help the younger guys out.

I think it would depend on what that 2020 pick would be. If it’s next years 2nd and 2020 1st, then no. But if it’s a mid round pick in 2020, sign me up!

If he's available, go get him. You don't get many chances to win a Super Bowl. Adding Peterson would help increase the odds that the Saints could win one this season. I don't care about the future, as no one knows what it might hold. Win when you get the chance or board up the franchise.

I usually don't lean this way, but I'd be okay with giving up those picks. It would depend on salary demands, I guess. He's one of the best corners and doesn't appear to a player to get his payday and coast. It all comes down to Loomis and working out deals across the next couple of seasons to keep our bounty of great draft choices.

I'm kinda stuck on choosing option 1 and 4. Okay with the picks, but worried about the salary compensation.

How much is Peterson earning this season?

Here's his cap numbers
2018 - 15.0 mil
2019 - 11.9
2020 - 13.2

We have 1.9 mil available this year. Only 19.2 mil next year and quite a few FA's to figure out. Teddy Bridgewater, Mark Ingram, Will Lutz, Ken Crawley, PJ Williams, Tyler Davidson, Josh Hill, Ben Watson, Justin Hardee, etc.

I like Von Miller..... and Denver is not good... Ohhh Ohhh..... can we get Von Miller too!!!!! (snickers)

Good points Guido.

He’s on the books for 11 mil this season I believe.

I’ll say this, remember when we tried to snatch Norman before he signed with the Skins....we have shown we will go for ‘it’.
I can promise you they have at least reached out.

It's too much to give up plus we would be eating into our future and we don't need to do that for one player even in a win now mode.
