Yeah, Doomsday Clock was really go compared to the previous issues.

Shazam #1 was also really good this week.

I just saw some spoilers for Batman #60. Ummm, what the heck is going on over there? This doesn't sound like Batman to me.

The cliffhanger was a surprise, but if you read Batman #50, you shouldn't be too surprised. It was very well done.

Only problem now is that for the next few issues there are going to be filler stories, including a crossover arc with The Flash. The follow-up from #60 won't be back until the mid to late 60s.

Not sure if you guys are into digital. I but them for trades of arcs I don't have (or don't want to pull out of the box).

Anywho, Amazon/Comixology has a great sale going on. I got a good bit of digital trades for only $4.99 each.

You can't help but to feel sorry for the guy, but why why why would you leave valuable comics like that in a storage unit? All of my most valuable books are in a bank safe deposit box. Damn, I'm hurting for the guy.

For one Las Vegas man, super villains don't just exist on the pages of comic books. They exist in real life as well and one is responsible for the theft of $100,000 worth of comic books.

According to News 3 Las Vegas, two suspects broke into Daniel Ballard's Life Storage unit on Thursday, December 27 and stole 12 boxes of comic books totaling around 3000 individual books, including several valuable issues.

The crown jewel of it was the Amazing Spider-Man," Ballard said. "I had the entire run, 1-170, volume one and two. I had a lot of other issues. The first appearance of Venom, Death of Captain Stacy, and the first appearance of the Punisher."

It doesn't say in the article, but I'm assuming this was a climate-controlled storage unit. I certainly hope so, anyway. But it sure does seem like it wasn't a random act by the thieves. Man, when you're dealing with a collection of $100k, that's not something I'd be heavily publicizing. It's gotta be a short list of people who would know he had them and I hope they catch these thieves quickly.

I surely hope he had collector's insurance on them. If not, he's totally screwed.

I realize when you have a collection like that space can be an issue, but if what he is saying is true there were some very valuable books in that collection and I hate to think they were just sitting in long boxes in storage unit. That's not real smart. You wouldn't likely do that with equaly valuable non-comic items.

Ummmmm yeah. I'm loving Peter Tomasi on Detective Comics. This last issue, however, will leave you with the feels.

Rezing this thread to ask if anyone has checked out the Jonathan Hickman X-Men relaunch/reboot/re-establishment/whatever with House of X and Powers of X. Not sure where it's all going as of yet but it's gotten me back into the mutant books after many years of not reading new stuff from them at all, and several of the new titles they announced at SDCC have piqued my interest. I've been down on Marvel's overall output for a while now, but the X-Men are my sentimental/historical favorite family of books, so I'm at least happy to see them getting pushed the fore again after quite a few years of them languishing due to crazy Ike Perlmutter and the Fox movie rights.

Yeah, I'm reading them as well. The one thing I don't like is there different titles. If it's the same story that you have to follow, just give it one title and leave it alone. I would imagine some, who don't read all three way to the end might miss that you have to read both.

The story itself is very intriguing. I would imagine before it's all said and done that there will be swerves and I fully expect that either "Charles," or whoever body he's inhabited, will get screwed by Eric (or the other way around).

The X-book I'm looking forward to is Excalibur. It's original namesake, X-Calibur, was my favorite X-book after X-Factor. It's going to be nice to see this new version with a new leader.

I also appreciate Marvel allowing their new class of artist take a crack. We've all talked in the past about how DC was blowing them out of the water with talent. At least some new blood is getting a crack at it.

Marvel also better hope that Hickman has a long story planned out. He's already on record saying that after X-Men, all of his other dream projects are at DC.

My one final concern is that this Hickman universe will be great and awesome, and then once we get closer to the X-Men joining the MCU, it's all going to go away.

Not sure if yall are fans of Nerdrotic on Youtube, but I just watched this video on the comic industry and it sounds like, barring a miracle, the big two aren't long for this world. This makes me all kinds of sad.
