***Official Saints Vs. Panthers Game Day Thread*** (3 Viewers)

Don’t worry guys Gilbert is about to look like joe Montana

I was hoping to see Taysom get some QB time. Going into the playoffs, I can't believe that RPO play doesn't have much P, as it's been just about every time the play has been run.

Does anyone remember much about the 09 last game of the season when we rested starters and lost ? C nope, me either
It wasn't this bad.

But you are right partially.

The way they season ended in 2009 was really concerning going in but the Saints responded and turned it on in the playoffs...though it wasn't a gimme. If not for 5 turnovers the Vikings beat us pretty solidly. But you need to consider that turnovers are plays that are earned, for sure. It was a bend but not not break performance.

Where the quibble is...we didn't rest starters on defense today and got massacred by a rookie 3rd string QB who wasn't even on a roster a few weeks ago. The concern is that, without planning the defense is capable of playing like this. They can still have an outing like this, so you keep in mind as possible in the range of outcomes in the playoffs. But more representative is the way they played after Cleveland and up to/before the Steelers in that stretch.

More likely today and week 1 are outliers...but this kind of performance is inside there. Just hope they stuff it away after today.

Panthers had a major bailout flag on third down on every single one of their scoring drives. Every single one.

Or trade Teddy for a #2 draft pick, and sign Foles with agreement to take over after 1 more season.
Swimmer, we get it, you are hot for Foles's jock right now. Give it a rest though, we all know you'll be on to your next QB de jour by next weekend.
