without googling....college athletic scholarships?? (3 Viewers)

Without reading the thread or knowing the answer, I’m hoping it’s Cross Country because both of my kids run at their respective high schools. I’m expecting academic scholarships for both, but athletic options would be a nice backup.
Then I could finally buy myself something nice - like some shoes from this century. :covri:

interestingly enough cross country vs swimming is what started me on this
my oldest has a loping gait that seems ideal for xcountry, my wife keeps pushing swimming (even though he doesn't seem to have above average ability in the pool)
i figured that xcountry would be an 'easier' scholarship than others
as i looked at the list and read the reasons, i understood that xcountry is a very low overhead sport, thus most any HS can field a team of many runners who can train most of the year
add in that it's not a very marque sport since it does not allow much fan experience, i can understand why colleges don't throw money at xcountry kids (BUT, having written a good many letters of rec, i can easily assume that a HS kid who has demonstrated the focus and drive to continue competing for 3-4 years is VERY attractive for colleges)

I was kinda hoping that Archery would be the winner.

or of course... Modern Dance. ;)
