Just curious about the rings. Does a player that practiced, suited up for a game, and then got cut get a ring if the team wins a Super Bowl? If this has already been discussed, my bad!

A super bowl winning team can give whoever they want a ring. Any player, at any time in the season, staff, etc. Heck, DM26 even got a ring our SB year

As far as the losing team goes, it actually gets a ring as well. It's sometimes referred to as the AFC or NFC Championship ring. It typically is less gaudy, and there's also less information about them, but a lot of people didn't know they existed.

What!?! Have these people not seen Ace Ventura Pet Detective???!

:hihi:

LOL they've always existed.

A good reminder to anyone that complains about "participation trophies" since it is a ring handed to the SB loser. The conference title trophy isn't enough LOL

Ok, Thanks! I would hope that the Saints give rings to anyone who contributed to the success of the team. Practice squad as well as those rent-a-players (signed then cut). Seems fair.

I think I remember the 2009/10 team had something like 120 rings made - something like that. I think it’s discretionary, but pretty much everybody gets one.

I read somewhere that the league contributes money to the SB winners to appease the occasional skin flint owner who isn't into rings.

More benevolent owners can dig into their own pockets and purchase as many rings as they desire.

up to each team but all players that helped in any way front office and some others. practice squad injured reserve everyone got one last time I think

The league does give a certain amount of money that wins )I believe it is enough to cover somewhere around 125 full cost rings) Those go to basically all players that were on the active roster during the season, coaches, and primary front office staff. after that the owner can add additional cash to pay for either full cost rings if need and for lower versions ( think cubic zirconium diamonds) for other rings to minor team employees and sell to fans.

A couple of years ago I was at a customers house and he had a 2009 Saints super Bowl ring on a shelf near his TV. I asked him about it and he admitted it was one of the "fake" rings the team sold to fans. It did look real to me as an extremely non-expert on jewelry though.

Technically, Dez Bryant can finally get a ring.
