I don't get it. We beat them by 41 points last time, yes, 41 points! I can't think of any other team this year that beat another team so badly this entire year. Do you know why we beat them so badly last time? Because they can't stop Brees passing game nor our running game. We ran and passed on them like a yoyo up and down and could have played our backups by the second quarter. In almost every position, they match up poorly against us. Yes, Foles will score more than 7 points unlike Wentz but Foles will not score more than 21 points in the dome and that includes garbage time. Foles doesn't play defense, Foles is not a God, nor does a team will themselves to victory over a much better team. For example, their secondary is so bad made up of third stringers and why Brees had a field day last time. Foles cannot will these third stringers to suddenly play like Deion Sanders. Its the exact same defense this time around. It makes for a great storyline like a movie, but this is real life, and in real life, the much better team wins as we will comfortably. No, it won't be by 41, I say around by 21 points. This is the best divisional matchup we could have hoped for.

if Chicago had a decent kicker or Chicago's overrated defense could have actually played real defense on the Eagles last drive, there would be no Foles story this year.

For most, I doubt it’s fear. More like caution. Everybody is good at this point, but if our boys avoid big mistakes and do their jobs, we should be in good shape. Leggo!

I agree with the OP.

I don’t get it. Anyone can beat anyone but if you look at the teams in the playoffs, this is by far the best matchup for us.

I feel like Im in Bizarro world.

The “Foles” factor is an unknown. Sproles being back is an unknown. Also, they are the defending champs so there’s no moment or venue that’s bigger than these guys. We are going to have to play our best and we haven’t been playing our best the past several weeks. The Eagles are playing their best ball right now.

I get why it’s nerve wracking.

We should be fine though but it’s a tough matchup.

I agree and we will. But as you know, matchups are very important and they match up terribly against us in almost every important area. It was not a fluke why we beat them so badly meaning us on offense against their defense.

well, yes Foles is the unknown, but not really. Will he play better than Wentz? Yes. Will foles score 40 against our good defense in the dome? No way. Why this game won't be close is because their defense won't be able to stop our offense like the first time around. You don't think they tried everyway possible the first time to stop brees and company? The problem is they match up horribly against us.

This.

Normal to have caution. It’s been a long season and a successful one thus far. It really is win it or bust in my opinion.

They were much better last year since they had a very potent running game also last year and their secondary was not banged up. Combine that with Foles who didn't make a lot of mistakes last year, made for a good outing. This is not the same Foles led Eagles team as last year at all.

1-Since Dallas, something has been off with the offense
2-our online is a huge question mark
3-these opportunity’s are waning with drew aging. The window is closing

Well lets really analyze this since the Dallas game if anything has been wrong with the Saints. First of all, Dallas as I have always stated (so much so that a few think I am some dallas lover), matches up very well against us. If we played them again, we would win but it would be close and be an ugly low scoring game. They are a very good team and I would be surprised if the Rams beat them this weekend. It would be fitting and right that Dallas will be our opponent in the championship game. There are good reasons why they have won like 9 out of ten games and the indy game was basically meaningless to them. Even so, we only lost by 3 points on the road. They will be our toughest matchup irregardless who we face in the superbowl. The Carolina and Tampa Bay games are divisional games. As you know, divisional games are usually close. They know us well and we know them well and even so, we still beat both of them. To think we would beat every team by 40 points each week was wrong to begin with. In the end, a win is a win and we have only lost one game when it counted as I am discounting the first game against Tampa since we were just trying to find our form back then. I think we are just fine.

What changed from the cowboys game on?

The eagles werent able to exploit our o-line the first time nor will they be able to this time. If you go back and look at our game against the eagles, you can see Brees had time to throw and our running backs were able to run wild on them. I honestly cannot think of another team this year that beat another team as badly as we did to the Eagles and besides foles and sproles, it is the exact same team coming into the dome again and foles and sproles don't play defense.

Thats my point, nothing has changed. We played a very good team on the road who matches up very well against us and we lost. That was only to that particular team. The reality is besides Dallas, we still have beaten every team when it mattered (obviously discounting the week 17 meaningless game). The difference in playing Dallas again will be that 1) it will be in the dome and 2) I have confidence in Payton that he will make major adjustments so that we will win this time but that game will be ugly, close and nail biting and all that. So to me, nothing changed except week 13, we played a very good team on the road and lost and here is where I don't think people are giving credit that the cowboys are good. I won't be surprised when they will be our opponent in the championship game as I have always believed they are the second best NFC team behind us.
