Can We Talk About Chris Farley? (1 Viewer)

He always made me laugh.

Other than the Van down by the river skit..

I think the Chip and Dales Dancer try outs and Da Bears stuff was great.

I liked Chris a lot. While it’s true that he overused the fat guy comedy he had incredible charisma and delivery. Making light of something he was self conscious about was just how he struggled to be accepted. Good info op. Thanks

Chris Farley was one of my favorite comedians of all-time. He made me laugh just looking at him, sometimes. I'm taking laugh out loud stuff. The crazy antics were simply really funny to me. I was truly saddened by his death.

It goes to show you "to each his own"......I'm shocked people didn't find him funny at all. But in the same sense, I hate all things Will Ferrell. Never laughed at anything he was in. Errybody has their own tastes I guess!

I always enjoyed watching things with Chris Farley. Tommy Boy was such a fun movie and I still think I quote it to this day.

And as funny as that Chippendales sketch was, I remember seeing an interview with Chris Rock talking about it and he, Chris Rock, really didn’t like it. He said:

““That was a weird moment in Chris’s life,” former “SNL” cast member Chris Rock said of the Chippendales sketch, as the New Yorker recounted in its review of “I Am Chris Farley.” “As funny as that sketch was, and as many accolades as he got for it, it’s one of the things that killed him. It really is. Something happened right then.”

Here is the article it was in. Came out when that I Am Chris Farley documentary came out and is a pretty good article.

He made me laugh at times but he was the type of guy that had limited upside. He was the guy at the party that made you laugh.... until he didn’t...

There was a quote, I think from Spade (paraphrasing)

“The first hour of hanging out with Farley would be the greatest hour of your life.

Every hour after that would be the worst”

Would you guys put him in the top 5 fat guy comics, or maybe the Mount Rushmore? There have been a lot of great comics that were large, I don't know if he makes it.

I thought he was hilarious as a physical comedy - outrageous role type comedian. Dying so young we never would get to see if he would have been something greater...truly sad....RIP Chris
