Good luck from Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

Wait what? A classy Philly fan? I’m a little surprised honestly. I visited the eagles forum the other day and it was filled with expletive-laden trash. Things about SP that I can’t repeat, About that girl with the eagles shirt, etc.

Thank you for not being that

The Eagles message board can be a fun place, but it's a little off the wall. The mods let you get away with a lot so people push the limits, which can be good or bad. It's a pretty active community though which is the most important thing to me (some message boards are dead and it sucks).

I ran into a few Saints fans in their jersey's shaking hands right after the Superbowl while walking up Broad street. You're a hard team/fanbase to dislike.

I'd argue you guys are the most complete teams in it still (coaching, run game, pass game, DL, secondary). There are better teams in a few individual aspects but top to bottom I think you're it.
Our DL vs your OL will be a fun matchup to watch. Could be the matchup that decides the game.

I could see that. I know for a fact that y’all won’t roll over and it will be a fight. And I love Nick Foles and very much respect him.

Welcome and thanks for your insights! Hope you stay around after the game, no matter the outcome!

Here is to good clean game!

If it's 48-7 again I may not come back for a bit due to alcohol poisoning, but other than that hopefully I'll stick around.

Classy post. Thanks for coming on board.

Definitely rooted for you guys last year once we were out. Fun story and a very likeable team.

I think Foles’ ability to get the ball out so early plays into our hands and helps diminish our weakness. We haven’t been great at defending the deep ball. If they stress getting it out quickly with short passes our LBers win that matchup. We just can’t cheat up too much and get burned deep. That’s my fear. D line will have to bring an intense pass rush so when Foles does take a deep shot we can force an errant throw and create some turnovers. Our safety’s need monster games.

It's a bit of guesswork though. That was the narrative on Foles before the Vikings NFC Championship game last year and he came out throwing bombs. It's not his clear strength but who knows what the game call will be.

Your linebackers vs Ertz will be another fun matchup to watch.

We shut Ertz down the first time but this game could absolutely be a different story.

Looking forward to an awesome game, I believe the Saints will show up and bring it but the Eagles will be very formidable challenge. In my eyes this is our year and the home team wins. Good Luck and thanks for the classy post.

I appreciate it. Low standard considering we were up against the Vikings and the Patriots but hey I'll take it.

Ha!! I left that part out to be more hospitable.

But yes. Absolutely. Competition played a big part.

I still liked the story though. Overcoming all the injuries, Pederson seems like a good dude, etc.

Hey Eagles-dude!

I'm a Vikings fan, I hope you don't mind some questions from me. I'll try to keep it light.

1. Is it true Lombardi trophies are essentially useless after the day of the Super Bowl? We don't have one so I wondered about that some.

2. For much of this year, Eagles fans were responding to Vikings twitter posts with "38-7". Why after winning a Super Bowl against the Patriots are Eagles fans hung up on beating the Vikings rather than talking trash with whoever your real rival is, or Patriots fans. It puzzles me because we've never beat the Eagles in the playoffs, and normally that type of "rivalry" starts after a team is beaten by another team in the playoffs.

Thanks Eagles-dude!
Love to say I'm rooting for you guys, but your fans acted like asshats last year.... well some of your fans did.

Greetings from the enemy. Just swung by to wish you guys good luck, some insight on our team and maybe answer some questions. I'm hoping it's a closer game than the last meeting but I think you guys are the best left still in it, and I'll be rooting for you guys going forward if things don't go our way (always had a ton of respect for the city, Payton, and Brees).

So what's different (not necessarily better) from the last time we met?

Nick Foles: Nick is an enigma. Less purely talented than Wentz but there has been some talk that he's a better fit for Pederson. He is arguably better than Wentz at going through his progressions and is the definition of a rhythm QB. He is a risk taker though and can throw up some absolutely atrocious INTs occasionally. If you can get to him he's easy to force into mistakes but he gets the ball out fast, and has a great OL protecting him. Speaking of which...

Offensive Line: They have been playing much better as of late, holding down studs like Donald, Watt, Clowney, Kerrigan and Mack. Foles getting the ball out fast has helped that absolutely. The weakness is on the left side. Jason Peters is one of my all time favorites, but he has needed more "breaks" this year (understandable) for a 330 pound 36 year old and Semualo has played better, but is exploitable.

Run game: Our run game is awful. We lost Clement since the last time you met us and have Smallwood/Adams who can flash but overall aren't impressive. Sproles on the other hand is back and has looked every bit as dangerous as he always has in the past. Overall it's still a massive weakness though.

Defensive Line: The biggest change is Tim Jernigan is back. (the guy in the ski mask with gold teeth after the Chicago game...love that dude). He's a big boost to the run defense game, even going back to when he was a Raven. This is the biggest strength on our team easily.

Secondary: It is almost entirely comprised of backups and rookies at this point. They have actually been playing well recently, especially previous no-names like LeBlanc and Maddox. The problem is smart coaches find weaknesses in young players, and you guys have a smart coach. Second half of the Bears game you can see they figured out that Maddox, who had been playing very well up until that point, was biting hard on double moves and they torched him the rest of the game. They're better than before but overall this is another exploitable area for sure.

Hi, Delaware here. I can't make it down to the Dome for the game, I have to work in the morning, but I'm glad to see another local down here in the virtual bayou.

I like both these teams, but I think we run through their line and it leaves Drew with under 2 to find a receiver. Nick's gonna get in the wind all day, too.

Nick plays a feel game. He throws it where it feels right to throw it in the moment, we don't need to worry about hearing any play calling.

We're playing for 6 points. Not 41. 6 at a time. Then you decide whether you're gonna go for 1 or 2. All of the talk about scoring a lot of points is silly. we play for six at a time every time.

Remember this. We brought an undrafted rookie who tossed it to a third string guy who threw it to a backup quarterback in the show.

It's been done!

That said, I think the Saints give us a game. They're a good group when they're healthy. They won't win. But I think they give us a game. Drew is a quality QB but there won't be any time for all of that shoulder juking. Not on that day. Huh uh.
