Is this something that Payton could restrict until after our run (whenever that might occur)? Seems to me that, instead of giving complete attention to the upcoming games, these coaches that are interviewing for jobs (and all that entails) are very probably losing their focus and/or not giving this championship run all the attention that this entire organization deserves. Just seems kinda selfish to be doing that at this time with all the work everyone else has put forth this entire year.
So far, I believe it is only Allen that has interviewed. He is definitely one that needs to focus on the job at hand. The defense is playing better but far from perfect. JMO

This is their shot at the big time and timing is critical. Payton isn't going to block the opportunity for two reasons. First, it's the wrong thing to do from a moral standpoint. Second, he won't be able to attract other top talent to join the staff if they know Payton will block their opportunities.

Also consider those coaches have two weeks to prep for the next game, as opposed to the normal one week. So you can afford a day or two.

There is a schedule that coaches have to follow concerning those teams coaches that are still in the playoffs.

Teams are also allowed to interviewassistant coaches who have a first-round bye in the playoffs. However, the interview must take place that week. Candidates can choose to decline the interview to focus on preparing their current team for the postseason.

I am pretty sure that they can also deny any coach that has a "assistant head coach tag applied to them" ala Campbell. Though the last time I have heard of a team denying a interview option was Saban when he was with Miami. Then he jumped ship to go to Alabama. What he **** head.

I think somehow Elway blocked a team from interviewing one of his coaches here in the past few days.

I looked for a Dennis allen thread, but couldn’t find one. (Didn’t look too hard). Is anyone else a bit nervous that Miami hasn’t made any announcement yet about who they have hired? Maybe waiting until after the season to interview some assistants on other teams still in the tournament? Although that hasn’t stopped anyone else from announcing actual hiring of assistants on teams still in the tournament. Im really hoping we can retain this group for at least one more year.

I remember when BC told Jeff Jagazinski (something like that) not to interview with the Jets, and then fired him when he went through with an interview.

Their fans think they're going to hire Kris Richard after Dallas loses tomorrow. Brian Flores the other one getting some talk. Pretty much no talk of DA on their message boards.

One of the odd benefits of having the #1 seed is that teams in search of a coach are usually going rush after them in the first week of the offseason for their team...leaving our coaches safe from being stolen. Any coaches still involved in the playoffs won't be available until late January or February and a majority of the teams don't wait that long to hire someone.

I don't think any of our coaches would lose focus by interviewing for another job because winning a Super Bowl now gives them more leverage. Leverage in contract negotiations. Leverage in garnering respect from other coaches and players. Leverage.

Looks like it's going to be Flores in Miami

If our defense do really good against Philly I expect Dennis Allen to be naked head coach of Miami.
