Would you want to be a referee from New Orleans that officiated in L.A. in the NFC title game and made the call that cost the Saints trip 2 Super Bowl (4 Viewers)

L.A. fans may not be as numerous, but a fan in L.A. still stands for Fanatic. I heard one of the officials is a C.P.A. in L.A.. Could that cost him 10's of thousands of dollars in business. These referees aren't rich that could financially cripple him. Could a referee afford to have his vehicle vandalized repeatedly? Would other kids pick on their children or grandchildren in school and possibly assault them? Would his wife be a danger of a fanatic Rams fan? Roger Goodell has lived and breathed the Nfl everyday for many years now. Do you really think he hasn't thought about theses things?

In 2018, NFL officials made an average of $189K. Next year, that average shoots up another $16K to $205K.

Vinovich, the CPA, has 13 years experience officiating NFL games (including 10 alone as a referee) so he’s likely making more than the average salary. Unless he has copious amounts of debt and/or multiple addictive and expensive vices (gambling, substance abuse, prostitution, ect.), he won’t be hurting financially.

Why do you want to know?

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing my name would go down as the ref who made the biggest no-call in NFL history. I'd also lose sleeping knowing an entire city and fan base completely hates me.

Oh well **** Gary Cavaletto, Vinovich and that entire crew

Wouldn't that make you feel more powerful?

Drugs are bad my friend a ref from Louisiana wouldn't have made such a gross error, in fact I believe they would have thrown flags on all those helmet hits (4)and PIs (3)

A ref from Louisiana wouldn't have been involved. I'm not screaming conspiracy here but I can guaran-****-tee that no one with any ties to New Orleans was ever going to officiate this game. I do think the "missed" call was intentional, but I can only speculate as to why.

I'm born and raised in L.A. County I have born again Rams fans around me every day since the game. Actual NFL fans admit it. The new ones just point to the other calls. I even had someone bring up the o-line hands to the face. Okay, we'd happily replay that 3rd and 10.

Even if the game wasn’t bought or fixed . That’s complete negligence on the nfls part. Of course the officials aren’t going to want to go home to an angry mob .

I couldn’t be a ref because I’d have to miss saints games. They’d have to schedule me for monday night or Thursday night when the saints play on Sunday...and Sunday when the saints play on Monday or Thursday.

People always make the mistake and assume that people with more money care less about money than people with less money. The exact opposite is true. Also, most CPA's and most Nfl referees are not rich.

if you make 6 figures a year, you are rich.

$190K for a side gig isn't bad.

Most NFL referees do it as a side gig. By and large, they do well enough financially that they have the extra time to carve out weekends, Thursdays, Mondays, etc. for a paid hobby. They're not Jeff Bezos, but they're earning far more than the average American.

If this happens, that person needs a freaking life. Enough already. They made a bad call. And the head Ref wasn't even the main culprit at fault.

But to cause financial ruin, damage property, assault kids? What the hell? As hurt and disappointed as we are, that's a line no one should cross.

I’m a high school ref, and there are reasons they don’t assign us to the school we graduated from or that our kids go to. I’ll give you a hint.... it’s not because they think we’ll purposely cheat for our or our kids’ school.

I would have to be blind not to make a call like that against any team including the Saints.....

Done some umpiring for some Dixie Youth Baseball with my little brother playing, he hated me after the game lol..... gotta be fair when officiating a game on any level.... its not about the officials its about those playing the game...
