Browns sign Kareem Hunt (UPDATE: Hunt to return to play this week v. Bills) (1 Viewer)

Glad he's getting another chance and hope he makes the most of it. The Browns have, recently anyway, tried to be a no-nonsense team with the way they handled the Josh Gordon situation.

Other than that, I'm just glad he's in the AFC. The Browns are going to be relevant very very soon and I'll be rooting for them.

I believe he is from the Cleveland area, does that give him support or put him in harms way?

I saw the video. I didn't see a whole lot that says he should pay for it the rest of his life. From what I can remember she wasn't doing much to remove herself from the situation. Didn't she keep going back and wasn't she the one instigating it? I'm running off a terrible memory here but about the worst I saw was him push a guy that went into her.
It was pretty bad on Hunt's part. The most damning thing for KH that I remember was that he had a friend trying to pull him away from the situation and Hunt resisted. And after an initial confrontation and he pretty much left, he came storming back for more.

Once again the NFL had their opportunity to make a statement in making an example of how serious this issue is yet at the same time ticket sales will be on the rise over at Brownsville.

I'm amazed at you "perfect" people that never made a mistake in your life. We've all received second chances. He's a kid who didn't handle himself well. He's not the first and surely won't be the last. I'm sure this will serve as a defining moment in his life and hopefully it leads him to the path of greatness! I wish the kid nothing but success!

I've managed to never assault anyone, it doesn't require being perfect.

Rite on; absolutely no reason to kick the man while he’s down.

Sarcasm? Serious question. Because that's pretty much what Hunt did to the young lady in the video.

And before this spins off into a repeat of the original video thread. I don't have a problem with Hunt getting a second chance, but I'm not going to downplay the seriousness of men hitting women. Especially when the man doing the hitting is an elite physical specimen making a living outshining other elite athletes. He had chances to remove himself from the situation more than once.

His team cut him because his actions were severe enough. And that team was a Super Bowl favorite in need of his tremendous ability.

Well, he is signed by John Dorsey, who drafted him for Kansas City. He knows him better.

No doubt he did a terrible thing, I wonder what steps he is taking, not only to show to the world he has learned for such a terrible mistake, but also to make contributions towards defending women that suffer abuse.

Words are empty, actions are not.

John Dorsey who drafted him is giving him another shot. The Browns are getting a lot better really quick and with the disaray in Pitt, coaching change in Cincy and QB change in Baltimore they might be able to take over that division sooner than later.

Kudos to you. But what about the things you have done wrong? You would want forgiveness and an opportunity to be better.

I don't disagree with your statement, but let's not act like there is nothing a woman could ever do that would earn her a physical altercation.

what gets me in all this is the notion that a high profile figure (athlete, movie star, politician, ceo type) "deserves" a 2nd chance
this is not someone being let out of prison in a socially agreed upon time who hopefully has done some rehabilitation
no one 'deserves' that position in the first place - we're not talking about freedom, we're talking very rarefied air -- everyone 'deserves' water, no one deserves Vueve Clicquot

if ever anyone is confused about the notion of 'toxic' masculinity...

Good for Hunt, good for the Browns. If nothing else, they're finally stacking talent there in Cleveland.
